Feeding on the Word
Pastor Zubeda Sing · 2 min read

“When your words came, I ate them; they were my joy and my heart’s delight, for I bear your name, LORD God Almighty.”
The Word must be eaten and digested to bring joy and health.
Scripture is not just information; it is the spiritual food that sustains growth.
Make time for deep, meaningful feeding, not just hurried snacking.
Jeremiah says, when the word of God came, he ate them. Sounds strange does it not. How do you eat words? You eat the word when you receive it in faith and you know that you know that God keeps his promises. You eat his word, when you see the manifestation of the word in your heart and life. The word becomes real to you, so much so that it lodges itself in your heart and mind and causes you to believe God against all odds. No one can take away this word from your heart as you have personally experienced it for yourself. Let me give you an example of this in your own life. Perhaps you have been seeking employment for a long time and no matter how hard you tried, you did not get a job. You meet a man or woman of God who speaks to you and tells you, that you do not have to worry, you will get a job. A couple of days later, you are doing what you normally do and suddenly you get a call and you are offered a job. You have experienced the power of the spoken word, which is like honey in your mouth. It is like eating this word and no matter what anything says, you are one with that word and you know that you know that God is good. This kind of word brings joy to your heart and life.
The word is no longer just information to you, you have experienced it, you believe it and you embrace it in your life. When you have an experience like this with the word of God, you do not take the word lightly, you understand the power of a promise out of the word of God and are sure that it has an integral part in your life. It brings stability and protection to your life. you will find yourself making time for the presence of God and his word on a daily basis. The word becomes a boundary in your life. When the enemy tries to come in with doubt and unbelief, you automatically switch your thoughts to the word of God and keep the word first place in your life. This is the life of a Thriver.
