Willful Decision Making

Pastor Wesley & Yajhna Sing · 2 min read

“And it came to pass, when she pressed him daily with her words, and urged him, so that his soul was vexed unto death; That he told her all his heart, and said unto her, There hath not come a razor upon mine head; for I have been a Nazarite unto God from my mother's womb: if I be shaven, then my strength will go from me, and I shall become weak, and be like any other man. And when Delilah saw that he had told her all his heart, she sent and called for the lords of the Philistines, saying, Come up this once, for he hath shewed me all his heart.”
Judges 16v16

Samson was anointed with strength and power to overcome every obstacle that would challenge his strength. He was an anointed nazarite and could not cut his hair as the strength or anointing on his life was in his hair. He was a willful man who did as he pleased, no one could tell him what to do. In this case it cost him his life. He wanted a relationship with Delilah who was not of the covenanted people of Israel. He was so infatuated with her and his emotions were so strong that his decision to reveal his secret was compromised. She used this information against him. He lost the anointing and the presence and power of God left him.

In our day and age, we have the holy spirit in our hearts so he leads us and guides us in our decision making. When we are willful and insist on things that are contrary to the will of God, we pay a price. An example I can site here, is a man or woman who choose a partner who is not a born-again child of God. They become unequally yoked and this is the start of a life of misery. It costs them years of pain and heartache. They can believe that they can change the person, but only God can change a person. Please consider carefully your decisions.
