Honour your Pledge to the House of God

“Then Moses spoke to the leaders of the tribes of the Israelites, saying, “This is the thing which the LORD has commanded: If a man makes a vow to the LORD or swears an oath to bind himself with a pledge [of abstinence], he shall not break (violate, profane) his word; he shall do according to all that proceeds out of his mouth.”
A pledge to the house of God is not a promise to your Pastor or the leaders of the church. A pledge or commitment to the house of God to sow your money or time is a promise you make before the Lord and He holds you to it.
When a pledge is taken up, please do not respond emotionally, overcommitting yourself know that you will not be able to fulfill it. Rather not pledge at all. The expectation would be for you to fulfill what you have promised. Let your yes be yes and your no be no.
I do not want you to feel condemned, it is just a thought I am presenting for you to ponder for the future. Your words and your commitments are precious so give them out sparingly so you over deliver and under promise.
