God Honours His Word

Pastor Wesley & Yajhna Sing · 2 min read

“In hope against hope Abraham believed that he would become a father of many nations, as he had been promised [by God]: “SO [numberless] SHALL YOUR DESCENDANTS BE.” Without becoming weak in faith he considered his own body, now as good as dead [for producing children] since he was about a hundred years old, and [he considered] the deadness of Sarah’s womb. But he did not doubt or waver in unbelief concerning the promise of God, but he grew strong and empowered by faith, giving glory to God, being fully convinced that God had the power to do what He had promised.”
Romans 4v18

Abraham was so convinced that God would keep his promised that he hoped against hope. When everyone around him tried to dilute his faith that God would not come through, Abraham stood firm. He knew his God to be faithful to his word. He was not a man that he should lie, what he said he would do.

This kind of faithfulness is in our DNA as we are the sons/daughters of God. We have the power to fulfill our promises. God is a man of his word and we are doers of the word of God. We have a responsibility to fulfill what we have promised as we represent our heavenly Father here on earth. Abraham had seen God do what he had promised, again and again so he was convinced God would come through and he did, Isaac was proof of God’s faithfulness.

Can people rely on you to fulfill your promise?
