Faith Chronicles

A month of daily readings, written by Dr RJ Sing for his church every month from 2007 until his passing in 2024. Pastor Zubeda Sing wrote alongside him, and she continues them today. Each reading has its scripture, the teaching, a confession and the day's Bible reading plan.

In 2021 and 2022 he also wrote daily messages for believers in business and at work — the Marketplace, kept with the rest of his writing on his own site.

The Spirit’s Clear Mandate to Apostle Paul

Pastor Zubeda Sing

“But when God, who had chosen me and set me apart before I was born, and called me through His grace, was pleased to reveal His Son in me so that I might preach Him among the Gentiles [as the good news—the way of salvation], I did not immediately consult with anyone [for guidance regarding God’s call and His revelation to me]. Nor did I [even] go up to Jerusalem to those who were apostles before me; but I went to Arabia and stayed awhile, and afterward returned once more to Damascus” Gal 1 v15-17

Thankful for the Ability to Give

“As for you, the anointing [the special gift, the preparation] which you received from Him remains [permanently] in you, and you have no need for anyone to teach you. But just as His anointing teaches you [giving you insight through the presence of the Holy Spirit] about all things, and is true and is not a lie, and just as His anointing has taught you, you must remain in Him [being rooted in Him, knit to Him].” 1 John 2v27

Jesus is the epitome of giving. He gave his life for you and me. He died on the cross and paid for our sins so that we might live sin free. We are free from lack. We have…

Thankful for Increase on Every Side

“and not holding fast to the head [of the body, Jesus Christ], from whom the entire body, supplied and knit together by its joints and ligaments, grows with the growth [that can come only] from God.” Colossians 2v19

I have increase on my mind. God has my increase on his mind. God desires me to increase in every area of my life. Each day my knowledge of God increases more and more so …

    Thankful for Seed to Sow

“And God is able to make all grace [every favor and earthly blessing] come in abundance to you, so that you may always [under all circumstances, regardless of the need] have complete sufficiency in everything [being completely self-sufficient in Him], and have an abundance for every good work and act of charity. As it is written and forever remains written,” 2 Corinthians 9v8

Seed time and harvest shall never cease, never end, there is always an opportunity for us to sow into the kingdom of God, into the lives of people or into a project of th…

Thankful for the Power to Get Wealth

“But you shall remember [with profound respect] the LORD your God, for it is He who is giving you power to make wealth, that He may confirm His covenant which He swore (solemnly promised) to your fathers, as it is this day.” Deuteronomy 8v18

We are anointed to get wealth. A Wealth transfer is our portion in this life. We attract wealth into our lives because of the anointing that abides in us. We need to allo…

Giving Honour Where Honour is Due

“For for this cause pay ye tribute also: for they are God's ministers, attending continually upon this very thing. Render therefore to all their dues: tribute to whom tribute is due; custom to whom custom; fear to whom fear; honour to whom honour.” Romans 13v6-7

Paul writing to the church in Rome clearly gives instruction to the believers to be well doers and not to become weary in their well doing. In his walk and experience in …

    The Wisdom of Honour

“Ananias ordered those who stood beside him to strike Paul on the mouth. Then Paul said to him, “God is going to strike you, you whitewashed wall! Do you actually sit to judge me according to the Law, and yet in violation of the Law order me to be struck?” But those who stood near Paul said, “Are you insulting the high priest of God?” Paul said, “I was not aware, brothers, that he was high priest; for it is written, ‘YOU SHALL NOT SPEAK EVIL OF A RULER OF YOUR PEOPLE.’”” Acts 23v2

Paul had been arrested falsely and accused. He was defending himself before the Sanhedrin when he was struck on the mouth at the instruction of the high priest. He first …

Honour – the Power to Say No!

“My son, if you have become surety (guaranteed a debt or obligation) for your neighbor, If you have given your pledge for [the debt of] a stranger or another [outside your family], If you have been snared with the words of your lips, If you have been trapped by the speech of your mouth, Do this now, my son, and release yourself [from the obligation]; Since you have come into the hand of your neighbor, Go humble yourself, and plead with your neighbor [to pay his debt and release you]. Give no [unnecessary] sleep to your eyes, Nor slumber to your eyelids; Tear yourself away like a gazelle from the hand of the hunter And like a bird from the hand of the fowler.” Proverbs 6v1-5

This is a clear warning to us, never put yourself out there to be a surety for someone else. Let me give you an example, someone comes to you and asks you will you sign s…

Honour your Pledge to the House of God

“Then Moses spoke to the leaders of the tribes of the Israelites, saying, “This is the thing which the LORD has commanded: If a man makes a vow to the LORD or swears an oath to bind himself with a pledge [of abstinence], he shall not break (violate, profane) his word; he shall do according to all that proceeds out of his mouth.” Numbers 30v1

A pledge to the house of God is not a promise to your Pastor or the leaders of the church. A pledge or commitment to the house of God to sow your money or time is a promi…

The Consequences of Failure to Honour

“Then came to Jesus scribes and Pharisees, which were of Jerusalem, saying, Why do thy disciples transgress the tradition of the elders? for they wash not their hands when they eat bread. But he answered and said unto them, Why do ye also transgress the commandment of God by your tradition? For God commanded, saying, Honour thy father and mother: and, He that curseth father or mother, let him die the death. But ye say, Whosoever shall say to his father or his mother, It is a gift, by whatsoever thou mightest be profited by me; And honour not his father or his mother, he shall be free. Thus have ye made the commandment of God of none effect by your tradition. Ye hypocrites, well did Esaias prophesy of you, saying, This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me. But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.” Matthew 15v1-9

Jesus speaking to those who came to him, reminded them to honour their father and mother and the consequences of failing to do so. Why would Jesus even bring this up, he …
