Honour your Parents

The principle of Honour has found itself in the commandments given to Moses by God. God has given us our Parents and we owe it to ourselves to heed the word of God to enjoy a blessed life.

The thought I want us to ponder on in this scripture today is how honouring your mother and father gives you a long life.

John 10v10 tells us that Jesus came to give us life, life to the full till it overflows. Indeed this is our portion, however the length of our lives is determined by this honour principle. The honouring of our parents bring us a long life.

We get so familiar with our parents that we fail to see the need for honour. I am sure many of you do this and I say well done. However, there are some of us that get educated more than our parents and then we think we are more qualified than them so we treat them anyhow. This is a big mistake. You are sowing seed for your future that will bring untold suffering. Do not follow the way of the world who think honour is old fashioned. No, you are wiser than that. Christ in you, the hope of Glory has placed these parents in your life. honour them in all you do so you life a long life. I cannot tell you the ways that you should honour your parents, let the holy spirit teach you so you can life a good and long life.
