Faith Chronicles

A month of daily readings, written by Dr RJ Sing for his church every month from 2007 until his passing in 2024. Pastor Zubeda Sing wrote alongside him, and she continues them today. Each reading has its scripture, the teaching, a confession and the day's Bible reading plan.

In 2021 and 2022 he also wrote daily messages for believers in business and at work — the Marketplace, kept with the rest of his writing on his own site.

The Spirit’s Clear Mandate to Apostle Paul

Pastor Zubeda Sing

“But when God, who had chosen me and set me apart before I was born, and called me through His grace, was pleased to reveal His Son in me so that I might preach Him among the Gentiles [as the good news—the way of salvation], I did not immediately consult with anyone [for guidance regarding God’s call and His revelation to me]. Nor did I [even] go up to Jerusalem to those who were apostles before me; but I went to Arabia and stayed awhile, and afterward returned once more to Damascus” Gal 1 v15-17

    The Called Man Apollos

“Now a Jew named Apollos, a native of Alexandria, came to Ephesus. He was an eloquent and cultured man, and well versed in the [Hebrew] Scriptures. This man had been instructed in the way of the Lord, and being spiritually impassioned, he was speaking and teaching accurately the things about Jesus, though he knew only the baptism of John;” Acts 8v24-25

When Paul speaks of Apollos, he used the following, I sowed the seed of the word and Apolos watered this word by the ministry of the gospel, doing mighty signs wonders an…

The Call to the Brother of John - James

“Going on a little farther, He saw James the son of Zebedee, and his brother John, who were also in the boat mending and cleaning the nets. Immediately Jesus called to them; and they left their father Zebedee in the boat with the hired workers, and went away to follow Him [becoming His disciples, believing and trusting in Him and following His example].” Mark 1v19-20

James was the brother of John, they were known as the sons of Thunder. James was one of the three that were in Jesus’s inner circle. They were privy to Jesus’s life and t…

The Call to Simon Peter and Andrew

“As Jesus was walking by the Sea of Galilee, He noticed two brothers, Simon who was called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea; for they were fishermen. And He said to them, "Follow Me [as My disciples, accepting Me as your Master and Teacher and walking the same path of life that I walk], and I will make you fishers of men.”” Matthew 4v19-120

Peter was always thinking, and he always thought with a view toward action. When he heard “question,” he immediately thought “answer.” When he observed “problem,” he thou…

The Mandate of the Prophet Habakkuk

“The oracle (a burdensome message—a pronouncement from God) which Habakkuk the prophet saw. O LORD, how long will I call for help And You will not hear? I cry out to You, “Violence!” Yet You do not save.” Habakkuk 1v1-2

Habakkuk’s openness and honesty in his relationship with God is refreshing. Like Job, Habakkuk brings his complaints and questions directly to the Lord.

Now the word of the LORD came to me, saying. This was a standard way of introducing a divine oracle at the beginning of a prophetic book. Jeremiah did not speak out of hi…

    Jesus’s Mandate to His Church

“Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations [help the people to learn of Me, believe in Me, and obey My words], baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe everything that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always,” Matthew 28v19-19

Go therefore and make disciples. The message is loud and clear to each and every one of us. Salvation came to us as a gift, however, Jesus wants us to go out and win this…

    A Pleasing Heart

“not in the way of eye-service [working only when someone is watching you and only] to please men, but as slaves of Christ, doing the will of God from your heart;” Ephesians 6v6

God calls us to be a God lover and not a man pleaser. In all of our giving to God, let it not be known by others what you give and when you give or how much you give, tha…

    A New Heart

“Moreover, I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you, and I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. I will put my Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will keep My ordinances and do them.” Ezekiel 36v25-27

God was talking to His people and promised that He would give them a new heart and put a new spirit within them. Why? They had a heart of stone which was not turned to Go…
