A New Heart

Pastor Zubeda Sing · 2 min read

“Moreover, I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you, and I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. I will put my Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will keep My ordinances and do them.”
Ezekiel 36v25-27

God was talking to His people and promised that He would give them a new heart and put a new spirit within them. Why? They had a heart of stone which was not turned to God. God promised to remove the heart of stone and give them a heart of flesh that he could work with. He put His word into their hearts so they would turn towards Him. The word in their hearts was good seed in good soil so it would manifest a harvest, a heart towards God. The word that would be sown into their hearts would germinate and bring forth a harvest of Faith that would walk in the ways of God. The word would be in them and in their hearts so they would follow hard after God.

We are so blessed, we do not live by the Law but by grace. In this grace walk God speaks to our hearts, the soil of our hearts is soft and tender and we hear the voice of God easily. The Holy Spirit cultivates the soil of our hearts so it can hear and receive the word of God. Once the word of God is received like seed into our hearts, God allows the word to accomplish that which he has sent it to do. The word in our hearts prevents our hearts from being calloused. Like the heart pumps blood into the rest of the body, so the word in our heart flows through our hearts and minds and we are renewed day by day. The love of God permeates our hearts and we become pliable in the hands of the Holy Spirit, who shapes us into the man/woman God has called us to be.

The Thriver has a yielded heart, a heart that pants after the presence of God, daily.
