Faith Chronicles

A month of daily readings, written by Dr RJ Sing for his church every month from 2007 until his passing in 2024. Pastor Zubeda Sing wrote alongside him, and she continues them today. Each reading has its scripture, the teaching, a confession and the day's Bible reading plan.

In 2021 and 2022 he also wrote daily messages for believers in business and at work — the Marketplace, kept with the rest of his writing on his own site.

    The Word Stands for Ever!

“The voice said, Cry. And he said, What shall I cry? All flesh is grass, and all the goodliness thereof is as the flower of the field: The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: because the spirit of the LORD bloweth upon it: surely the people is grass. The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever” Isaiah 40:6-8

Isaiah prophesied that God would deliver the Israelites from exile and that their suffering would come to an end. God would liberate them and end their exile. The transience of man is emphasized here.…

    The Best Weapon!

“Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God” Eph 6:10-11,17

    God’s Glory!

“And he said, I beseech thee, shew me thy glory. And he said, I will make all my goodness pass before thee, and I will proclaim the name of the LORD before thee; and will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will shew mercy on whom I will shew mercy. And it shall come to pass, while my glory passeth by, that I will put thee in a clift of the rock, and will cover thee with my hand while I pass by: And I will take away mine hand, and thou shalt see my back parts: but my face shall not be seen.” Ex. 33:18-19, 22-23

The relationship between God and Moses was very intimate. We read that God would speak to Moses face to face, as a man speaks to his friend (see Exodus 33:11). In our passage for…

    A Double-Edged Sword!

“For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart”.” Hebrews 4:12

God gives us His Word as a Sword – not a sword to use against others, but a sword that judges our own thoughts and the attitudes of our own hearts. A Christian can…
