Faith Chronicles

A month of daily readings, written by Dr RJ Sing for his church every month from 2007 until his passing in 2024. Pastor Zubeda Sing wrote alongside him, and she continues them today. Each reading has its scripture, the teaching, a confession and the day's Bible reading plan.

In 2021 and 2022 he also wrote daily messages for believers in business and at work — the Marketplace, kept with the rest of his writing on his own site.

    Assess Yourself!

“Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?” 2 Corinthians 13:5

Sometimes it becomes necessary to take stock of your Faith. There are various things against which you can measure your own Spiritual Growth. If you have answered these questions honestly, give yourself one mark…

    Christ Lives in Me!

“For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 15:4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures” 1 Corinthians 15: 3-4

Hot, freshly baked bread spreads a lovely aroma through the house, but after four days, the same bread is old and moldy. The same can sometimes apply to Christians. When we first become Christians,…

    Faith Is a Gift!

“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: [it is] the gift of God” Ephesians 2:8

The Christian Religion is the only one of all the thousands of religions in the world where man does not have to achieve anything. Faith is a free gift from God. We do not…

    God Awaits Your Prayers!

“For the people shall dwell in Zion at Jerusalem: thou shalt weep no more: he will be very gracious unto thee at the voice of thy cry; when he shall hear it, he will answer thee.” Isaiah 30:19

Prayer is an act of drawing near to God. “The LORD [is] nigh unto all them that call upon him, to all that call upon him in truth.145:19 He will fulfil the desire of…

    To Celebrate!

“Then he said unto them, Go your way, eat the fat, and drink the sweet, and send portions unto them for whom nothing is prepared: for [this] day [is] holy unto our Lord: neither be ye sorry; for the joy of the LORD is your strength.” Nehemiah 8:10

It is God’s Will for His children to be joyful. Today, celebrations have become a way of life. Many towns have at least one festival per year. There are arts festivals, cherry festivals and…

    Church Attendance!

“Blessed are those who dwell in your house…Blessed are those whose strength is in you, who have set their hearts on pilgrimage” Psalm 84:4-5

On Festive occasions the Israelites spared no money or effort to visit the temple in Jerusalem. They travelled great distances and braved dangerous roads to visit the house of the Lord regularly. Our churches…

    A Quiet Time!

“But the LORD [is] in his holy temple: let all the earth keep silence before him.” Habakkuk 2:20

The Prophet Habakkuk calls on the whole earth to be silent in the Presence of the Lord and to worship Him. Quiet time, we call the time that we reserve for God – when…

Joy in the Presence of God!

“Thou hast made known to me the ways of life; thou shalt make me full of joy with thy countenance.” Acts 2:28

Children of God know that there is no other place where they experience so much joy as in the Presence of God. We don’t need to wait to experience the joy of God’s presence.…

    Stand Firm!

“Epaphras, who is [one] of you, a servant of Christ, saluteth you, always labouring fervently for you in prayers, that ye may stand perfect and complete in all the will of God.” Colossians 4:12

Epaphras’s beautiful prayer is almost hidden amongst Paul’s greetings to the congregation at Colosse. When he bids farewell to the congregation, Paul gives a beautiful testimonial of Epaphras. He conveys Epaphras’s regards to the…

The Gift of Being a Son of God!

“4 But when the fullness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law, 5 To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons.” Galatians 4:4-5

To be God’s child is not your right and is not something you deserve. It always remains a Gift of Grace. Read again what Paul says in Galatians 4:1-4, “1 Now I say, [That]…

    Study the Word of God!
