Faith Chronicles

A month of daily readings, written by Dr RJ Sing for his church every month from 2007 until his passing in 2024. Pastor Zubeda Sing wrote alongside him, and she continues them today. Each reading has its scripture, the teaching, a confession and the day's Bible reading plan.

In 2021 and 2022 he also wrote daily messages for believers in business and at work — the Marketplace, kept with the rest of his writing on his own site.

The Spirit’s Clear Mandate to Apostle Paul

Pastor Zubeda Sing

“But when God, who had chosen me and set me apart before I was born, and called me through His grace, was pleased to reveal His Son in me so that I might preach Him among the Gentiles [as the good news—the way of salvation], I did not immediately consult with anyone [for guidance regarding God’s call and His revelation to me]. Nor did I [even] go up to Jerusalem to those who were apostles before me; but I went to Arabia and stayed awhile, and afterward returned once more to Damascus” Gal 1 v15-17

    The Blessing of Answered Prayer

“Oh, GOD-of-the-Angel-Armies, If you’ll take a good, hard look at my pain, If you’ll quit neglecting me and go into action for me By giving me a son, I’ll give him completely, unreservedly to you. I’ll set him apart for a life of holy discipline. 1 Samuel 1v11 It so happened that as she continued in prayer before GOD, Eli was watching her closely. Hannah was praying in her heart, silently. Her lips moved, but no sound was heard” 1 Samuel 1v12

This is the story of Hannah, the mother of the prophet Samuel. The prophet who anointed David as king. Here was his mother who was barren and there was no way she could f…

    Develop the Skill of Praying

“And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint;” Luke 18v1

The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it …

    Be a Listener

“I have a lot more to say about this, but it is hard to get it across to you since you’ve picked up this bad habit of not listening. By this time you ought to be teachers yourselves, yet here I find you need someone to sit down with you and go over the basics on God again, starting from square one—baby’s milk, when you should have been on solid food long ago! Milk is for beginners, inexperienced in God’s ways; solid food is for the mature, who have some practice in telling right from wrong” Heb.5v11-14

Listening is a developed skill. We have an ear that one can see from our physical body, the ear I am speaking of is the inner ear that is trained to hear the voice of God…

    Apologise

“David said to God, “Is it not I who commanded the people to be counted? I am the one who has sinned and done evil; but as for these sheep [the people of Israel], what have they done? O LORD my God, please let Your hand be against me and my father’s house, but not against Your people that they should be plagued.”” 1 Chron 21v17

David was a man after God’s own heart. He had a pliable heart that was willing to ask for forgiveness, willing to apologise no matter what a great king he was. He was so …

    Graceful Thanks Giving

“We give thanks to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, as we pray always for you, for we have heard of your faith in Christ Jesus [how you lean on Him with absolute confidence in His power, wisdom, and goodness], and of the [unselfish] love which you have for all the saints (God’s people)” Col 1v3

We need to cultivate the art of thanks giving in to our everyday life. When we constantly give thanks unto the Lord, there is a grace that comes on us that makes our live…

Praying the Word over Your Pastor (Part 3)

“And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe [and] to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the LORD thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth: 28:2 And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God. 28:3 Blessed [shalt] thou [be] in the city, and blessed [shalt] thou [be] in the field. 28:4 Blessed [shall be] the fruit of thy body, and the fruit of thy ground, and the fruit of thy cattle, the increase of thy kine, and the flocks of thy sheep.” Deuteronomy 28:1-4

Prayer for Blessing: Father, I pray that my Pastor will hear your voice clearly, and because of that, He will be Blessed. Father, according to your promises, overtake my Pastor with Blessings. I declare…

Pray for Your Pastor and His Family!

“Remember them which have the rule over you, who have spoken unto you the word of God: whose faith follow, considering the end of [their] conversation.” Hebrews 13:7

When I attended church I always had a photo of my Pastor and His Family. This reminded me to pray for my pastor, His Spouse and His children. I realized that God was using…

    You Are to Be Persistent!

“5Yet because this widow continues to bother me, I will defend and protect and avenge her, lest she give me [a]intolerable annoyance and wear me out by her continual coming or [b]at the last she come and rail on me or [c]assault me or [d]strangle me” Luke 18:5 AMP

We are to learn from the Biblical account of the persistent widow. Let us now examine the entire account. *1Also [Jesus] told them a parable to the effect that they ought always to pray…

    You Are in Charge!

“Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; thou hast put all things under his feet:” Psalm 8:6

Man has to co-operate with God. Most Christians push all the responsibility onto God by declaring or referring to His sovereignty. In other words, ‘God knows all things and if there’s anything to do,…

    God Helps His Children

“If, when evil cometh upon us, as the sword, judgment, or pestilence, or famine, we stand before this house, and in thy presence, (for thy name is in this house,) and cry unto thee in our affliction, then thou wilt hear and help. O our God, wilt thou not judge them? for we have no might against this great company that cometh against us; neither know we what to do: but our eyes are upon thee” 2Chronicles 20:9, 12

The Israelites had much practice in crying out for help to the God of the Covenant. When things went well, they strayed from God and worshipped pagan idols. But as soon as they found…
