Faith Chronicles

A month of daily readings, written by Dr RJ Sing for his church every month from 2007 until his passing in 2024. Pastor Zubeda Sing wrote alongside him, and she continues them today. Each reading has its scripture, the teaching, a confession and the day's Bible reading plan.

In 2021 and 2022 he also wrote daily messages for believers in business and at work — the Marketplace, kept with the rest of his writing on his own site.

A Fruitful Tree

Pastor Zubeda Sing

“For he will be [nourished] like a tree planted by the waters, That spreads out its roots by the river; And will not fear the heat when it comes; But its leaves will be green and moist. And it will not be anxious and concerned in a year of drought Nor stop bearing fruit” Jeremiah 17v8

“Jesus looked around and said to his disciples, "How hard it is for the rich to enter the kingdom of God!” Mark 10:23 (NIV)

PRINCIPLE NO.5: OWN YOUR POSSESSIONS, DON’T LET THEM OWN YOU. Throughout the Word, we see that it is God’s will to bless and prosper His people. In Christ’s teachings, He reveals the true perspective…

Power Principle for Giving No.4 (Part 2)

“Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also”.” Matthew 6:19-21

Your heart’s desire must not be set upon your worldly possessions and the things of the world. John wrote, “Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man…

    Power Principle for Giving No.4

“Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him”.” 1John 2:15

PRINCIPLE NO.4: Store up treasures in Heaven which yield unlimited benefits. We live in a very materialistic society. The major objective of most people is to acquire as much of the world’s wealth, obtain…

Power Principle for Giving No.3 (Part 2)

“For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, so that you through his poverty might become rich” 2 Corinthians 8:9

The unlimited, unsearchable riches which belonged to God Almighty, and were a part of His very being, were Christ’s. He possessed all wisdom, all knowledge and all power. The vast riches of God’s incomparable,…

Power Principles for Giving No.2 (Part 2)

“Jesus sat down opposite the place where the offerings were put and watched the crowd putting their money into the temple treasury. Many rich people threw in large amounts. But a poor widow came and put in two very small copper coins, worth only a fraction of a penny. Calling his disciples to him, Jesus said, "I tell you the truth, this poor widow has put more into the treasury than all the others. They all gave out of their wealth; but she, out of her poverty, put in everything--all she had to live on.” Mark 12:41-44

This teaching is now continued. The difference between her small offering and the offering of the rich was that she gave of everything. It cost her 100 % commitment. This story of the poor…

Power Principles for Giving No. 2

“And Jesus sat over against the treasury, and beheld how the people cast money into the treasury: and many that were rich cast in much. 42 And there came a certain poor widow, and she threw in two mites, which make a farthing. 43 And he called unto him his disciples, and saith unto them, Verily I say unto you, That this poor widow hath cast more in, than all they which have cast into the treasury: 44 For all they did cast in of their abundance; but she of her want did cast in all that she had, even all her living.” Mark 12:41-44

Principle No. 2: It's not how much you give, but how much you have left that God sees; In this scripture, Jesus sat down opposite the place where the offerings were given to watch…

Power Principles for Giving No. 1(Part 2)

“But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition. 10 For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.” 1 Timothy 6:9-10 NIV

Principle No. 1: Guard against the Deceitfulness of Riches; One of satan’s strategies to get Christians involved with the cares of this world. This refers to day to day struggles of providing for their…

We are reminded of God’s Provision. If God can take care of the birds, He can take care of you. (Math 6:26). If God clothes His lilies, He can clothe you. (Math 6:28). Do…
