Faith Chronicles

A month of daily readings, written by Dr RJ Sing for his church every month from 2007 until his passing in 2024. Pastor Zubeda Sing wrote alongside him, and she continues them today. Each reading has its scripture, the teaching, a confession and the day's Bible reading plan.

In 2021 and 2022 he also wrote daily messages for believers in business and at work — the Marketplace, kept with the rest of his writing on his own site.

A Fruitful Tree

Pastor Zubeda Sing

“For he will be [nourished] like a tree planted by the waters, That spreads out its roots by the river; And will not fear the heat when it comes; But its leaves will be green and moist. And it will not be anxious and concerned in a year of drought Nor stop bearing fruit” Jeremiah 17v8

    Faith in Little Things

“10 He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much. 16:11 If therefore ye have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true [riches]?” Luke 16:10-11

We are often prone to assume that the mundane actions of daily life have no spiritual significance and offer no place for the application of our Faith. But scripture actually teaches the opposite. It…

    You Are Prosperous!

“And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.” Psalm 1:3

    You Are Wealthy!

“Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.” 3 John 2

You must begin at the beginning with regards to prosperity. What do I mean by that? Well, you must first believe that it is God’s will to prosper you, before you begin to prosper.…

Power Principle for Giving No.15 (Part 3)

“I have not coveted anyone's silver or gold or clothing. You yourselves know that these hands of mine have supplied my own needs and the needs of my companions. In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: 'It is more blessed to give than to receive.” Acts 20:33-35

The blessing is not in what we receive, but in what we give. We serve a GIVING God. It is His nature to give freely and liberally. James wrote, “If any of you is…

Power Principle for Giving No.15 (Part 2)

“I have not coveted anyone's silver or gold or clothing. You yourselves know that these hands of mine have supplied my own needs and the needs of my companions. In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: 'It is more blessed to give than to receive.” Acts 20:33-35

Jesus taught unlimited, liberal giving! He told the rich young ruler “…Go sell everything you have and give to the poor, and you will have Treasure in Heaven…” (Mark 10:21 NIV) The emphasis was…

PRINCIPLE NO.15: THE BLESSING IS NOT ON WHAT YOU RECEIVE, BUT IN WHAT YOU GIVE. Here in Paul’s farewell charge to the Elders in the Ephesian Church, in Verse 35, He refers to the…

Power Principle for Giving No.14 (Part 2)

“On reaching Jerusalem, Jesus entered the temple area and began driving out those who were buying and selling there. He overturned the tables of the money changers and the benches of those selling doves, and would not allow anyone to carry merchandise through the temple courts. And as he taught them, he said, "Is it not written: “'My house will be called a house of prayer for all nations'? But you have made it 'a den of robbers.” Mark 11:15-17

The Temple was established by God to be a Holy place where people come to meet with Him, worship Him, offer their sacrifices and to learn the Scriptures. But corrupt men had turned the…

PRINCIPLE NO.14: GIVE YOUR OFFERINGS FROM PURE MOTIVES. On two different occasions, Jesus cleansed the Temple of those who were buying and selling. The first instance of this was at the beginning of His…

Power Principle for Giving No.13 (Part 2)

“A woman came to him with an alabaster jar of very expensive perfume, which she poured on his head as he was reclining at the table”.” Matthew 26:7

We continue with our account of the anointing at Bethany. We stated that this woman gave what was most valuable to her as an act of worship. She did not give for selfish reasons.…

    Power Principle for Giving No.13

“A woman came to him with an alabaster jar of very expensive perfume, which she poured on his head as he was reclining at the table”.” Matthew 26:7

PRINCIPLE NO.13: GIVE UNSELFISHLY, WHOLEHEARTEDLY AN ACT OF WORSHIP! This is most beautiful example in the entire Bible of how God expects us to give. Jesus was in the house of Simon the leper.…

Power Principle for Giving No.12 (Part 2)

“Which of these three do you think was a neighbor to the man who fell into the hands of robbers? The expert in the law replied, "The one who had mercy on him." Jesus told him, "Go and do likewise.” Luke 10:36-37

We continue our discussion of this Parable. Here we see the Samaritan did not leave the man there in a helpless condition to fend for himself. He took responsibility for the man and his…

PRINCIPLE NO.12: GIVE FREELY AND LIBERALLY TO THOSE WHO ARE IN NEED. This is a Beautiful Portion of Scripture where Jesus answers the question as to, who is my neighbor? But to get a…
