Faith Chronicles

A month of daily readings, written by Dr RJ Sing for his church every month from 2007 until his passing in 2024. Pastor Zubeda Sing wrote alongside him, and she continues them today. Each reading has its scripture, the teaching, a confession and the day's Bible reading plan.

In 2021 and 2022 he also wrote daily messages for believers in business and at work — the Marketplace, kept with the rest of his writing on his own site.

The Spirit’s Clear Mandate to Apostle Paul

Pastor Zubeda Sing

“But when God, who had chosen me and set me apart before I was born, and called me through His grace, was pleased to reveal His Son in me so that I might preach Him among the Gentiles [as the good news—the way of salvation], I did not immediately consult with anyone [for guidance regarding God’s call and His revelation to me]. Nor did I [even] go up to Jerusalem to those who were apostles before me; but I went to Arabia and stayed awhile, and afterward returned once more to Damascus” Gal 1 v15-17

Joy in the Presence of God!

“Thou hast made known to me the ways of life; thou shalt make me full of joy with thy countenance.” Acts 2:28

Children of God know that there is no other place where they experience so much joy as in the Presence of God. We don’t need to wait to experience the joy of God’s presence.…

    Stand Firm!

“Epaphras, who is [one] of you, a servant of Christ, saluteth you, always labouring fervently for you in prayers, that ye may stand perfect and complete in all the will of God.” Colossians 4:12

Epaphras’s beautiful prayer is almost hidden amongst Paul’s greetings to the congregation at Colosse. When he bids farewell to the congregation, Paul gives a beautiful testimonial of Epaphras. He conveys Epaphras’s regards to the…

    God’s Glory!

“And he said, I beseech thee, shew me thy glory. And he said, I will make all my goodness pass before thee, and I will proclaim the name of the LORD before thee; and will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will shew mercy on whom I will shew mercy. And it shall come to pass, while my glory passeth by, that I will put thee in a clift of the rock, and will cover thee with my hand while I pass by: And I will take away mine hand, and thou shalt see my back parts: but my face shall not be seen.” Ex. 33:18-19, 22-23

The relationship between God and Moses was very intimate. We read that God would speak to Moses face to face, as a man speaks to his friend (see Exodus 33:11). In our passage for…

    Give Yourself Wholly to God!

“Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God”.” 2 Corinthians 7:1

To be committed to God is an essential element of spiritual growth. Commitment requires that you will be willing to give yourself wholly to God and to obey Him in all areas of your…

    The Prayer of Faith

“17 Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months. 5:18 And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth brought forth her fruit.” James 5:17-18

Prayer prayed with God-given Faith is irresistible. Sometimes a word spoken in Prayer becomes the channel for the Gift of Faith. In James 5:15, we are told that “The Prayer of Faith shall save…

    When Faith Contacts God

“For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation” 2 Corinthians 6:2

When Faith contacts God, it is always in the Present. God lives in the Eternal Now. To Faith, He never reveals Himself as “I was” but always as “I am”. When Faith contacts God,…

    You Are Confident!

“And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.” 1 John 5:14-15

You are a son/daughter of the Most High God. This knowledge gives you confidence when you approach God. Because of the Lord Jesus Christ, you have absolutely no sense of inadequacy in God’s Presence.…

You Have the Life of God!

“Therefore let no man glory in men. For all things are yours; Whether Paul, or Apollos, or Cephas, or the world, or life, or death, or things present, or things to come; all are yours.” 1 Corinthians 3:21-22

All things are yours. The one who belongs to Christ is a Child of the Most High God and His/Her Father will do anything for them. This is so wonderful. That as you pray…

Living in God Without Fear (Part 10)

“And it was so, when the days of [their] feasting were gone about, that Job sent and sanctified them, and rose up early in the morning, and offered burnt offerings [according] to the number of them all: for Job said, It may be that my sons have sinned, and cursed God in their hearts. Thus did Job continually.” Job 1:5

What do you Fear? Identify those areas and find out what God has said about them in His Word. Refuse to allow fear to be your motivation for prayer, i.e. you are afraid if…

    Agreeing with God About Prayer

“For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.” Matthew 7:8

Both Jesus (Luke 18:1) and Paul (1 Timothy 2:1) emphasized the importance of prayer, noting that people ought always to pray. Prayer includes asking and getting answers from God. But it is more than…

    What Is Prayer?

“But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen [do]: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking” Matthew 6:7

To understand what something is, it helps to examine what it is not. Prayer is not an emotional experience in itself. It is not a religious exercise or an escape valve. Every time you…
