What Is Prayer?

Dr RJ Sing · 1 min read

“But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen [do]: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking”
Matthew 6:7

To understand what something is, it helps to examine what it is not. Prayer is not an emotional experience in itself. It is not a religious exercise or an escape valve.

Every time you pray, you should be praying for results. As you pray in Faith, God responds to Faith. When you pray, the degree of Faith at work in your life, will determine the results you see. You must operate in Faith, praying exactly what you mean. Make prayer a business in your life. Just as a business expects to make a profit, so we should expect to make a profit when we pray. Industry demands the best.

It demands men trained to do their jobs. Christians too, should make a business of prayer, the greatest business there is. Prayer involves being involved in God’s business. Prayer is of utmost importance. Christianity is a living Faith, in touch with the living God who hears and answers prayers.

We should pray for results. If we pray and see no results, it shows we have the form without the Power. Remember the words of Jesus, “If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do [it].” John 14:14. All things God has provided are offered to us through prayer, and if we do not have them, it is because we have not made our prayer connection.
