Faith Chronicles

A month of daily readings, written by Dr RJ Sing for his church every month from 2007 until his passing in 2024. Pastor Zubeda Sing wrote alongside him, and she continues them today. Each reading has its scripture, the teaching, a confession and the day's Bible reading plan.

In 2021 and 2022 he also wrote daily messages for believers in business and at work — the Marketplace, kept with the rest of his writing on his own site.

    Walking in Humility!

“Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all [of you] be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble” 1 Peter 5:5

Three basic factors contribute to the destruction of a society; when people become ‘arrogant, overfed and unconcerned’ (Ezekiel 16:49) Sodom was destroyed for these three things. When a people become proud, their high minds…

    Receive Instruction!

“Open rebuke [is] better than secret love” Proverbs 27:5

    Deliverance to the Captives!

“There be four [things which are] little upon the earth, but they [are] exceeding wise: 25 The ants [are] a people not strong, yet they prepare their meat in the summer; 26 The conies [are but] a feeble folk, yet make they their houses in the rocks; 27 The locusts have no king, yet go they forth all of them by bands; 28 The spider taketh hold with her hands, and is in kings' palaces” Proverbs 30:24-28

In Proverbs 30:24-28, the writer tells of four creatures who are ‘small, yet they are extremely wise’. These creatures represent the four aspects of evangelism. The ‘ant’ has a tremendous drive to gather food…

    Like Precious Faith!

“Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to them that have obtained like precious faith with us through the righteousness of God and our Saviour Jesus Christ” 2 Peter 1:1

Are you a disciple of Philip or a disciple of Andrew? There are obvious differences in their answers when Jesus asked both of then what they should do about the hungry multitude. Jesus ‘already…

    Confidence in Him!

“Wherefore the LORD God of Israel saith, I said indeed [that] thy house, and the house of thy father, should walk before me for ever: but now the LORD saith, Be it far from me; for them that honour me I will honour, and they that despise me shall be lightly esteemed.” 1 Samuel 2:30

Eli had a hard time disciplining his sons because he was more concerned about their opinion of him than God’s opinion of him. God said to him, ‘Those who honor me I will honor’…

    Sweetened Waters!

“…and do not be bitter toward them” Colossians 3:19

Israel came to the waters of Marah, meaning ‘bitterness’ (Exodus 15:23) Distasteful experiences and feelings of being robbed and cheated can leave us bitter. Reflections of the past can pour back into our minds,…

    The Power of the Gospel!

“Wherefore I give you to understand, that no man speaking by the Spirit of God calleth Jesus accursed: and [that] no man can say that Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Ghost” 1 Corinthians 12:3

‘He makes clouds rise from the ends of the earth’ (Psalm 135:7) Truly God does ‘whatever pleases Him’ (Psalm 135:6) This was demonstrated with Elijah’s powerful confrontation with the prophets of Baal (1 Kings…

    Sons and Joint Heirs!

“And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with [him], that we may be also glorified together” Romans 8:17

The Holy Spirit has come to dwell within us as the ‘earnest’ (1 Corinthians 1:22; 5:5) or down payment of our eternal inheritance. Heaven for us will be our full inheritance, the full manifestation…
