Faith Chronicles

A month of daily readings, written by Dr RJ Sing for his church every month from 2007 until his passing in 2024. Pastor Zubeda Sing wrote alongside him, and she continues them today. Each reading has its scripture, the teaching, a confession and the day's Bible reading plan.

In 2021 and 2022 he also wrote daily messages for believers in business and at work — the Marketplace, kept with the rest of his writing on his own site.

The Spirit’s Clear Mandate to Apostle Paul

Pastor Zubeda Sing

“But when God, who had chosen me and set me apart before I was born, and called me through His grace, was pleased to reveal His Son in me so that I might preach Him among the Gentiles [as the good news—the way of salvation], I did not immediately consult with anyone [for guidance regarding God’s call and His revelation to me]. Nor did I [even] go up to Jerusalem to those who were apostles before me; but I went to Arabia and stayed awhile, and afterward returned once more to Damascus” Gal 1 v15-17

    Your Work Shall Be Rewarded

“But you, be strong and do not let your hands be weak, for your work shall be rewarded!” (2 Chronicles 15:7 – NKJV)

Now let us look at the above Scripture in the Amplified Version: 2 Chronicles 15:7 (AMP) “Be strong, therefore, and let not your hands be weak and slack, for your work shall be rewarded.”…

    God Still Delivers Today

“THE LORD is my Light and my Salvation—whom shall I fear or dread? The Lord is the Refuge and Stronghold of my life—of whom shall I be afraid? 2 When the wicked, even my enemies and my foes, came upon me to eat up my flesh, they stumbled and fell. 3 Though a host encamp against me, my heart shall not fear; though war arise against me, [even then] in this will I be confident.” (Psalm 27:1-3 – AMP)

Difficulties in life will visit you, irrespective of your spirituality and your love for God. At times you may find yourself in stressful and dangerous situations. These conditions try to weigh you down. This…

    A Floodtide of Refreshing

“The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.” (John 10:10 – NKJV)

God can do a New Thing! He told Jeremiah that He would make a ‘New Covenant’ in the future that would far surpass the old covenant (Jeremiah 31:31) We are living under that new…

The Love God Is Your Victory

“For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, 39 nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 8:38-39 – NKJV)

You are more than a conqueror when somebody mistreats you and it should not affect your worth or your value. You may have a problem, but as long as the problem does not have…

    Be Strong in the Lord

“Every place upon which the sole of your foot shall tread, that have I given to you, as I promised Moses.” (Joshua 1:3 – AMP)

Fear and timidity cripple and paralyze. Three times the Lord told Joshua, “Be strong and courageous.” (Joshua 1:6, 7, 9). Even Joshua’s own people exhorted him to “be strong and courageous” (v 18). God…

    Faith as a Trust – Part 3

“Yes, he alone is my Rock, my rescuer, defense and fortress. Why then should I be tense with fear when troubles come?” (Psalm 62:2)

In Psalm 62:2, David states, “He (God) only is my rock and my salvation, my stronghold; I shall not be greatly shaken” But in verse six, after making exactly the same declaration of trust…

God Is Not Bound by Time

“Nevertheless, do not let this one fact escape your notice, beloved, that with the Lord one day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years is like one day.” (2 Peter 3:8 – AMP)

Peter warns believers that in the last day’s scoffers will come who will question the Second Coming of Christ (see 2 Pet 3:3, 4). Peter explains that God’s concept of time differs greatly from…

You Have a Great Future Ahead

“For I know the plans and thoughts that I have for you,’ says the Lord, ‘plans for peace and well-being and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.” (Jeremiah 29:11 – AMP)

This is a beautiful verse of Scripture in God’s Word. The Living Translation goes like this, “For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord. They are plans for good and…

    Hezekiah Prospered Wheresoever He Went

“And the Lord was with Hezekiah; he prospered wherever he went. And he rebelled against the king of Assyria and refused to serve him.” (2 Kings 18:7 – AMP)

Have a strong positive attitude and don’t allow problems to control you. Have an overcoming attitude. It does not matter at what level you are functioning in life. Please take note that you are…

You Are to Lay Aside Every Weight – Part 2

“Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us.” (Hebrew 12:1 – NKJV)

We ended the last devotional by stating that we must run with purpose and not aimlessly. The important words that we used were, endurance, Persistence, and Purpose. The Key to purpose is perspective. The…

You Are to Lay Aside Every Weight – Part 1

“Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us.” (Hebrew 12:1 – NKJV)

The Word of God instructs us to lay aside every weight. In other words, turn away from distractions and focus on Jesus, the author and finisher of our Faith. Hebrew 12:2-5 NKJV “Looking unto…
