Be Strong in the Lord

“Every place upon which the sole of your foot shall tread, that have I given to you, as I promised Moses.”
Fear and timidity cripple and paralyze. Three times the Lord told Joshua, “Be strong and courageous.” (Joshua 1:6, 7, 9). Even Joshua’s own people exhorted him to “be strong and courageous” (v 18). God cannot use a timid, fearful vessel to accomplish the mighty conquests He envisions for your life.
How helpful it would be if you could only see that your enemies are the ones who are “melting in fear because of you” (2:9). If you could take a peak at the enemy’s camp, you would see how fearful they are of those in Christ! Gideon crept down to the enemy’s camp and found the enemy soldiers so frightened that they were dreaming about Gideon’s might against them (Judges 7:13-14).
Satan always tries to intimidate before the battle begins. When the Pharisees tried to frighten Jesus regarding Herod, Jesus replied, “Go tell that fox… I will reach my goal” (Luke 13:32). When the enemy threatens and intimidates, rise in courage and boldness and go forward. He knows that the Lord will “give you every place where you set your foot” (Joshua 1:3). Be strong! And of a good courage. Be not afraid.
