Faith Chronicles

A month of daily readings, written by Dr RJ Sing for his church every month from 2007 until his passing in 2024. Pastor Zubeda Sing wrote alongside him, and she continues them today. Each reading has its scripture, the teaching, a confession and the day's Bible reading plan.

In 2021 and 2022 he also wrote daily messages for believers in business and at work — the Marketplace, kept with the rest of his writing on his own site.

The Spirit’s Clear Mandate to Apostle Paul

Pastor Zubeda Sing

“But when God, who had chosen me and set me apart before I was born, and called me through His grace, was pleased to reveal His Son in me so that I might preach Him among the Gentiles [as the good news—the way of salvation], I did not immediately consult with anyone [for guidance regarding God’s call and His revelation to me]. Nor did I [even] go up to Jerusalem to those who were apostles before me; but I went to Arabia and stayed awhile, and afterward returned once more to Damascus” Gal 1 v15-17

    God Is Eternal

“I said, O my God, take me not away in the midst of my days: thy years are throughout all generations. Of old hast thou laid the foundation of the earth: and the heavens are the work of thy hands. They shall perish, but thou shalt endure: yea, all of them shall wax old like a garment; as a vesture shalt thou change them, and they shall be changed.” Psalm 102:24-26

The Psalmist of Psalm 102 is distraught and turns to the Lord for help. He pleads with God not to be aloof, but to hear his prayers. At the end of the Psalm, he…

I Will Not Be Quick to Retaliate

“Say not thou, I will recompense evil; [but] wait on the LORD, and he shall save thee.” Proverbs 20:22

When someone has done you wrong, don’t be quick to retaliate. Allow God to speak to your heart about how to respond. He knows the situation and He will work things out in your…

    By Faith and Patience!

“That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises” Hebrews 6:12

‘Faith and Patience’ (Hebrews 6:12) are two wings of the same bird. You may not always experience instant results from your Faith. More often than not, you must wait for results. Abraham is a…

    The Way to Overcome!

“Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?” 1 John 5:5

‘The One who remembered us in our low estate’ (Psalm 136:23) remembered Elijah had Peter in their lowest times. Elijah was suffering from burnout after fighting the victorious battle on Mount Carmel (1 Kings…

    Overcoming Insults!

“For even Christ pleased not himself; but, as it is written, The reproaches of them that reproached thee fell on me” Romans 15:3

Jesus spent His life bearing the insults of those who insulted God. The couriers of Hezekiah found the same reaction in the tribes of Israel when the couriers presented the truth about the Passover…

    Passing God’s Tests!

“Thou hast proved mine heart; thou hast visited [me] in the night; thou hast tried me, [and] shalt find nothing; I am purposed [that] my mouth shall not transgress” Psalm 17:3

Everyone goes through a process of proving and testing. Jesus taught that the seed falls on various types of ground, each type representing the human heart. Each of us will be tested to see…

    A Floodtide of Refreshing!

“The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have [it] more abundantly” John 10:10

God can do a New Thing! He told Jeremiah that He would make a ‘New Covenant’ in the future that would far surpass the old covenant (Jeremiah 31:31) We are living under that new…

    You Are Faithful!

“Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.” 2 Timothy 2:3

‘Success is a successor,’ and Paul told Timothy to impart everything he had learned from him to other ‘reliable men’. (2 Timothy 2:2) Paul used three images of a reliable, faithful person. First, he…

    Overcome Rejection!

“He came unto his own, and his own received him not.” John 1:11

Rejection cuts deep. To be rejected by one’s own family, relatives or people can cut a person to the foundation. Jephthah, son of a prostitute, knew what it felt like to be rejected (Judges…

    God Delivers You!

“Say not thou, I will recompense evil; but wait on the LORD, and he shall save thee.” Proverbs 20:22

“Wait for the Lord, and He will deliver you” (Proverbs 20:22). How difficult it is for our flesh to sit and wait! This proverb implores us not to take matters of revenge into our…

    God Is Faithful!

“God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord.” 1 Corinthians 1:9

“God is faithful”. All day, day in, day out, year in, year out: “Great is thy faithfulness” (Lamentations 3:23 KJV). Man in his stubbornness and rebellion may drift away from God, but through it…

    Overcoming Opposition!

“The LORD will not suffer the soul of the righteous to famish: but he casteth away the substance of the wicked.” Proverbs 10:3

Handling opposition is difficult, especially if the opposition is from those you love. Jesus faced opposition continually, even from those in His own family who said, ‘He is out of his mind’ (Mark 3:21).…
