Faith Chronicles

A month of daily readings, written by Dr RJ Sing for his church every month from 2007 until his passing in 2024. Pastor Zubeda Sing wrote alongside him, and she continues them today. Each reading has its scripture, the teaching, a confession and the day's Bible reading plan.

In 2021 and 2022 he also wrote daily messages for believers in business and at work — the Marketplace, kept with the rest of his writing on his own site.

The Spirit’s Clear Mandate to Apostle Paul

Pastor Zubeda Sing

“But when God, who had chosen me and set me apart before I was born, and called me through His grace, was pleased to reveal His Son in me so that I might preach Him among the Gentiles [as the good news—the way of salvation], I did not immediately consult with anyone [for guidance regarding God’s call and His revelation to me]. Nor did I [even] go up to Jerusalem to those who were apostles before me; but I went to Arabia and stayed awhile, and afterward returned once more to Damascus” Gal 1 v15-17

    The Power of Fasting!

“Behold, in the day of your fast ye find pleasure, and exact all your labours. Behold, ye fast for strife and debate, and to smite with the fist of wickedness: Is it such a fast that I have chosen? a day for a man to afflict his soul? is it to bow down his head as a bulrush” Isaiah 58:3-5

For the people here described, fasting was merely an accepted part of religious ritual, the kind of fasting practiced by the Pharisees in Jesus’ day. Instead of real repentance or self-humbling, they continued with…

    Greater Works!

“Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full”.” John 16:24

We have the right to use the Name of Jesus when we pray, praise and worship! That Name was given to us, the church and it has not lost its power. John 14: 12-14,…

    Use the Name of Jesus!

“Who being the brightness of [his] glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high; Being made so much better than the angels, as he hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.” Hebrews 1:3-4

Jesus received greatness of His Name after the resurrection from the dead. He inherited His Name when He was made alive out of spiritual death. It was after His resurrection that He revealed that…

    God’s Glory!

“And he said, I beseech thee, shew me thy glory. And he said, I will make all my goodness pass before thee, and I will proclaim the name of the LORD before thee; and will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will shew mercy on whom I will shew mercy. And it shall come to pass, while my glory passeth by, that I will put thee in a clift of the rock, and will cover thee with my hand while I pass by: And I will take away mine hand, and thou shalt see my back parts: but my face shall not be seen.” Ex. 33:18-19, 22-23

The relationship between God and Moses was very intimate. We read that God would speak to Moses face to face, as a man speaks to his friend (see Exodus 33:11). In our passage for…
