Faith Chronicles

A month of daily readings, written by Dr RJ Sing for his church every month from 2007 until his passing in 2024. Pastor Zubeda Sing wrote alongside him, and she continues them today. Each reading has its scripture, the teaching, a confession and the day's Bible reading plan.

In 2021 and 2022 he also wrote daily messages for believers in business and at work — the Marketplace, kept with the rest of his writing on his own site.

A Fruitful Tree

Pastor Zubeda Sing

“For he will be [nourished] like a tree planted by the waters, That spreads out its roots by the river; And will not fear the heat when it comes; But its leaves will be green and moist. And it will not be anxious and concerned in a year of drought Nor stop bearing fruit” Jeremiah 17v8

    Singing in the Spirit

“Don't drink too much wine, for many evils lie along that path; be filled instead with the Holy Spirit and controlled by him. 19 Talk with each other much about the Lord, quoting psalms and hymns and singing sacred songs, making music in your hearts to the Lord.” (Ephesians 5:18-19)

This is very spiritual and you must sing in the Holy Spirit. As you sing, you sing unto the Lord. It is the outflow of the spirit filled experience. This is not singing to…

    Praying in the Holy Ghost

“But you, dear friends, must build up your lives ever more strongly upon the foundation of our holy faith, learning to pray in the power and strength of the Holy Spirit.” (Jude 1:20)

Public prayer is a vital part of public worship. This is where the Holy Spirit takes hold of yielded vessels and prays through them. As we yield our thoughts and ways, we begin to…

Preaching Under the Inspiration and Influence of the Holy Ghost

“For our [preaching of the] glad tidings (the Gospel) came to you not only in word, but also in [its own inherent] power and in the Holy Spirit and with great conviction and absolute certainty [on our part]. You know what kind of men we proved [ourselves] to be among you for your good.” (1 Thessalonians 1:5 AMP)

This is where the preacher does not depend on the wisdom of man. Now, the Gospel is preached with power at the leading of the Holy Spirit. 1 Thessalonians 1:6 AMP “And you [set…

    The Body of Christ

“For by [means of the personal agency of] one [Holy] Spirit we were all, whether Jews or Greeks, slaves or free, baptized [and by baptism united together] into one body, and all made to drink of one [Holy] Spirit.” (1 Corinthians 12:13 – AMP)

When Christians get together, this group then is the body of Christ. 1 Corinthians 12:27 “Now here is what I am trying to say: All of you together are the one body of Christ,…

10 Reasons to Speak in Tongues – Part 2

“But you, dear friends, must build up your lives ever more strongly upon the foundation of our holy faith, learning to pray in the power and strength of the Holy Spirit.” (Jude 1:20)

Reason No. 6: Speaking in Tongues helps you walk in love and eradicates selfishness from your life. 1 Corinthians 14:4 – Your spirit prays and not your mind. Reason No. 7: The seventh reason…

10 Reasons to Speak in Tongues – Part 1

“I thank God that I speak in tongues privately more than any of the rest of you.” (1 Corinthians 14:18)

Let us consider reasons why every believer should speak in Tongues. Reason No. 1: The Word of God teaches it: Acts 2:4 “And everyone present was filled with the Holy Spirit and began speaking…

The Importance of Speaking in Tongues – Part 4

“We are told in the ancient Scriptures that God would send men from other lands to speak in foreign languages to his people, but even then they would not listen. 22 So you see that being able to "speak in tongues" is not a sign to God's children concerning his power, but is a sign to the unsaved. However, prophecy (preaching the deep truths of God) is what the Christians need, and unbelievers aren't yet ready for it. “” (1 Corinthians 14:21-22)

Tongues for a Sign, The people had overheard the disciples as they were filled with the Spirit and spoke with other Tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance. 1 Corinthians 14:21-22 is a good…

The Importance of Speaking in Tongues – Part 3

“For if I pray in a language I don't understand, my spirit is praying, but I don't know what I am saying.” (1 Corinthians 14:14)

When you pray in Tongues, it is a supernatural way to magnify God. There is a life of the natural, and also a life of the supernatural. Speaking in Tongues is the door into…

The Importance of Speaking in Tongues – Part 2

“So a person "speaking in tongues" helps himself grow spiritually, but one who prophesies, preaching messages from God, helps the entire church grow in holiness and happiness.” (1 Corinthians 14:4)

Can you see that? That means that as you speak in other Tongues you can edify yourself, encourage and build yourself up. The subject I am now addressing is quite comprehensive. However, I am…

The Importance of Speaking in Tongues – Part 1

“And everyone present was filled with the Holy Spirit and began speaking in languages they didn't know, for the Holy Spirit gave them this ability.” (Acts 2:4)

Tongues are the initial evidence of the infilling of the Holy Spirit. I cannot imagine a believer living his Christian life, not speaking in other Tongues. This is so necessary and vital to live…

What Does It Mean to Fully Believe? – Part 3

“You can never please God without faith, without depending on him. Anyone who wants to come to God must believe that there is a God and that he rewards those who sincerely look for him.” (Hebrews 11:6)

You must believe that God is a rewarder of them that diligently seeks Him. Believe that it is the Will of God, to give what He has promised. 1 John 3:22 “Afterwards Jesus and…

What Does It Mean to Fully Believe? – Part 2

“On the last day, the climax of the holidays, Jesus shouted to the crowds, if anyone is thirsty, let him come to Me and drink. 38 For the Scriptures declare that rivers of living water shall flow from the inmost being of anyone who believes in Me. 39 He was speaking of the Holy Spirit, who would be given to everyone believing in Him; but the Spirit had not yet been given, because Jesus had not yet returned to His Glory in Heaven.” (John 7: 37-39)

We are to believe that all the promises of God are Yea and Amen! This is what it means to fully believe. 2 Corinthians 1:20 NKJV “For all the promises of God in Him…
