Faith Chronicles

A month of daily readings, written by Dr RJ Sing for his church every month from 2007 until his passing in 2024. Pastor Zubeda Sing wrote alongside him, and she continues them today. Each reading has its scripture, the teaching, a confession and the day's Bible reading plan.

In 2021 and 2022 he also wrote daily messages for believers in business and at work — the Marketplace, kept with the rest of his writing on his own site.

The Spirit’s Clear Mandate to Apostle Paul

Pastor Zubeda Sing

“But when God, who had chosen me and set me apart before I was born, and called me through His grace, was pleased to reveal His Son in me so that I might preach Him among the Gentiles [as the good news—the way of salvation], I did not immediately consult with anyone [for guidance regarding God’s call and His revelation to me]. Nor did I [even] go up to Jerusalem to those who were apostles before me; but I went to Arabia and stayed awhile, and afterward returned once more to Damascus” Gal 1 v15-17

    Faith in Little Things

“ 10 He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much. 11 If therefore ye have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true [riches]?” Luke 16:10-11

We are often prone to assume that the mundane actions of daily life have no spiritual significance and offer no place for the application of our Faith. But scripture actually teaches the opposite. It…

Faith as a Trust (Part 3)

“He only [is] my rock and my salvation; [he is] my defense; I shall not be greatly moved.” Psalm 62:2

In Psalm 62:2, David states, “He (God) only is my rock and my salvation, my stronghold; I shall not be greatly shaken” But in verse six, after making exactly the same declaration of trust…

Faith as a Trust (Part 2)

“His foundation [is] in the holy mountains.” Psalm 87:1

A believer who has learned to trust, does not give in to panic and confusion, but remains calm and secure. In Psalm 37:5, David said, “Commit your way to the Lord, trust also in…

Faith as a Trust (Part 1)

“They that trust in the LORD [shall be] as mount Zion, [which] cannot be removed, [but] abideth for ever.” Psalm 125:1

The first aspect of Faith as a fruit is trust. One Bible translates Pistis as ‘Trustfulness’. Over and over again Jesus emphasized that one of the requirements for all who would enter the Kingdom…

God Given Faith, Meets a Specific Need

“But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will” 1 Corinthians 12:11

God gives this Faith or withholds it at His discretion. This Kind of Faith is included with all other Supernatural Gifts. The Key Phrase in the above scripture is, “Just as He wills”. God…

    Peter Walks by Faith

“And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus” Matthew 14:29

There is that Faith that operates through a spoken word, but not limited to the spoken word only. It was by this same kind of supernatural Faith that Jesus was able to walk on…

    The Prayer of Faith

“ 17 Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months. 18 And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth brought forth her fruit” James 5:17-18

Prayer prayed with God-given Faith is irresistible. Sometimes a word spoken in prayer becomes the channel for the Gift of Faith. In James 5:15, we are told that “The Prayer of Faith shall save…

    Lazarus, Come Forth

“And when he thus had spoken, he cried with a loud voice, Lazarus, come forth.” John 11:43

Jesus again demonstrated the Power of words spoken with the right Kind of Faith outside the tomb of Lazarus. He cried out with a loud voice, “Lazarus, come forth” (John 11:43). Their brief command,…

    Mustard Seed Faith

“And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.” Matthew 17:20

In the previous devotional we discussed how Jesus confronted the storm. We saw how Jesus spoke an “Authoritative Word of Faith” and got the desired result. Later He dealt with a Storm of a…

“And they came to him, and awoke him, saying, Master, master, we perish. Then he arose, and rebuked the wind and the raging of the water: and they ceased, and there was a calm” Luke 8:24

In Luke 8:22–25, we see that, as Jesus and His disciples were crossing the sea of Galilee in a boat, they were suddenly overtaken by a violent storm. The disciples woke Jesus, who was…
