Faith Chronicles

A month of daily readings, written by Dr RJ Sing for his church every month from 2007 until his passing in 2024. Pastor Zubeda Sing wrote alongside him, and she continues them today. Each reading has its scripture, the teaching, a confession and the day's Bible reading plan.

In 2021 and 2022 he also wrote daily messages for believers in business and at work — the Marketplace, kept with the rest of his writing on his own site.

A Fruitful Tree

Pastor Zubeda Sing

“For he will be [nourished] like a tree planted by the waters, That spreads out its roots by the river; And will not fear the heat when it comes; But its leaves will be green and moist. And it will not be anxious and concerned in a year of drought Nor stop bearing fruit” Jeremiah 17v8

    You Have His Abundance

“The Blessing of the Lord makes one rich, and He adds no sorrow with it.” (Proverbs 10:22 – NKJV)

Having poverty means having “hunger…thirst…nakedness...and being in need of everything’ (Deuteronomy 28:48) When exactly did Jesus become poor? He began to become poor the moment He was identified with our sins. From that moment…

    Meeting God’s Conditions

“There are those who [generously] scatter abroad, and yet increase more; there are those who withhold more than is fitting or what is justly due, but it results only in want.” (Proverbs 11:24 – AMP)

We must make an important, logical distinction between earning God’s Grace, which is impossible, and meeting God’s conditions, which is obligatory. We cannot earn God’s abundance, which comes only through Grace; however, we are…

    Steps to Acceptance

“For if you forgive people their trespasses [their reckless and willful sins, leaving them, letting them go, and giving up resentment], your heavenly Father will also forgive you.” (Matthew 6:14 – AMP)

There are four steps you must take to experience acceptance with God. The first thing is to forgive every person who has rejected you or harmed you in any way. As Jesus instructed us,…

    Enjoying the Blessing

“The blessing of the Lord—it makes [truly] rich, and He adds no sorrow with it [neither does toiling increase it].” (Proverbs 10:22 – AMP)

Let’s look at the list of curses in Deuteronomy 28. Read this entire chapter for yourself, considering whether you are enjoying a blessing or enduring a curse. If we are redeemed children of God,…

    Freed from Shame

“The Lord God has opened My ear, and I have not been rebellious or turned backward. 6 I gave My back to the smiters and My cheeks to those who plucked off the hair; I hid not My face from shame and spitting.” (Isaiah 50:5-6 – AMP)

Shame is a cruel and ugly emotion, and it is found even among Christians. It is often the result of sexual abuse or emotional abuse, such as being ridiculed at school. I once read…

    Despising the Shame

“Keep your eyes on Jesus, our leader and instructor. He was willing to die a shameful death on the cross because of the joy He knew would be His afterwards; and now He sits in the place of honor by the throne of God.” (Hebrews 12:2)

Here is a brief account of what happened after Jesus’ arrest in the garden of Gethsemane. Pontius Pilate had handed Jesus over to the soldiers to take Him out to be executed. Matthew 27:27-31,…

    Treating One Another Right

“Continue to love each other with true brotherly love. Don't forget to be kind to strangers, for some who have done this have entertained angels without realizing it!” (Hebrews 13:1-2)

The World is full of all kinds of people. Just looking at someone’s exterior, you might say, “I don’t see much to get excited about” You could look back in the mirror and perhaps…

    Jesus Endured Your Rejection

“We love Him, because He first loved us” (1 John 4:19 – AMP)

I believe the primary result of rejection is the inability to receive or communicate love. This point was made by John in the New Testament, when he wrote, “We love Him because He first…

    Glorifying God in Your Body

“Haven't you yet learned that your body is the home of the Holy Spirit God gave you, and that He lives within you? Your own body does not belong to you. 20 For God has bought you with a great price. So use every part of your body to give glory back to God because He owns it.” (1 Corinthians 6:19-20)

There are many ways in which we use our bodies. One primary activity consists of nourishing ourselves-eating and drinking. Paul said that we need to do those activities in a way that glorifies God.…

    The Power of Fasting

“In fact, in the day of your fast you find pleasure, and exploit all your laborers. 4 Indeed you fast for strife and debate, and to strike with the fist of wickedness. 5 Is it a fast that I have chosen, a day for a man to afflict his soul? Is it to bow down his head like a bulrush?” (Isaiah 58:3-5 – NKJV)

In Isaiah 58, for the people, fasting was merely an accepted part of religious ritual, the kind of fasting practiced by the Pharisees in Jesus’ day. Instead of real repentance or self-humbling, they continued…

Acceptance and Justification with the Father

“Yet now God declares us "not guilty" of offending Him if we trust in Jesus Christ, Who in His kindness freely takes away our sins.” (Romans 3:24)

To receive God’s provision for rejection, you must grasp two basic facts. First, God did not make a lot of different provisions for each of the various needs of humanity. Instead, He made just…

    Conquering Faith – Part 2

“Looking unto Jesus, the Author and finisher of our faith.” (Hebrews 12:2 - NKJV)

Jesus is the Supreme example of perfect Faith. The life Jesus lived in the flesh was the life of Faith. He possessed a strong unquestioning trust and Faith in the Father. He had Faith…
