Faith Chronicles

A month of daily readings, written by Dr RJ Sing for his church every month from 2007 until his passing in 2024. Pastor Zubeda Sing wrote alongside him, and she continues them today. Each reading has its scripture, the teaching, a confession and the day's Bible reading plan.

In 2021 and 2022 he also wrote daily messages for believers in business and at work — the Marketplace, kept with the rest of his writing on his own site.

A Fruitful Tree

Pastor Zubeda Sing

“For he will be [nourished] like a tree planted by the waters, That spreads out its roots by the river; And will not fear the heat when it comes; But its leaves will be green and moist. And it will not be anxious and concerned in a year of drought Nor stop bearing fruit” Jeremiah 17v8

    Faith Is a Gift

“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: [it is] the gift of God.” (Ephesians 2:8)

The Christian Lifestyle is the only one of all the thousands of religions in the world where man does not have to achieve anything. Faith is a free gift from God. We do not…

    Faith in a Nutshell

“And his servants came near and spoke to him, and said, “My father, if the prophet had told you to do something great, would you not have done it? How much more then, when he says to you, ‘Wash, and be clean’?” (2 Kings 5:13 – NKJV)

In Naaman we have a striking illustration of the place Faith hold’s in God’s dealing with man. Think first how intense Naaman’s desire was for healing. He would undertake a long journey and humble…

    Faith in Little Things

“No! For unless you are honest in small matters, you won't be in large ones. If you cheat even a little, you won't be honest with greater responsibilities. 11 And if you are untrustworthy about worldly wealth, who will trust you with the true riches of heaven?” (Luke 16:10-11)

We are often prone to assume that the mundane actions of daily life have no spiritual significance and offer no place for the application of our Faith. But scripture actually teaches the opposite. It…

    Faith as Trustworthiness

“I will protect and bless him constantly and surround him with my love; he will be great because of me.” (Psalm 89:24)

Now let us examine this aspect, the aspect of ‘Trustworthiness’. The Hebrew word for Faith is ‘Emunah’ and the Greek is ‘Pistis’. Its primary meaning is ‘faithfulness’ and its secondary meaning is ‘Faith’. The…

    Faith as a Trust – Part 3

“Yes, he alone is my Rock, my rescuer, defense and fortress. Why then should I be tense with fear when troubles come?” (Psalm 62:2)

In Psalm 62:2, David states, “He (God) only is my rock and my salvation, my stronghold; I shall not be greatly shaken” But in verse six, after making exactly the same declaration of trust…

    Faith as a Trust – Part 2

“ON THE holy hills stands the city [of Jerusalem and the temple] God founded.” (Psalm 87:1 – AMP)

A believer who has learned to trust, does not give in to panic and confession, but remains calm and secure. In Psalm 37:5, David said, “Commit everything you do to the Lord. Trust him…

    Faith as a Trust – Part 1

“Those who trust in the Lord are steady as Mount Zion, unmoved by any circumstance.” (Psalm 125:1)

The first aspect of Faith as a fruit is trust. One Bible translates Pistis as ‘Trustfulness’ over and over again, Jesus emphasized that one of the requirements for all who would enter the Kingdom…

    You Are Wise

“All who listen to my instructions and follow them are wise, like a man who builds his house on solid rock.” (Matthew 7:24)

When you sow your seed, you are putting your finances in that ‘rock’. Jesus is the Rock, and when you put your money in the work of Christ, it does not matter which way…

I Shape My World by My Words

“Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. 33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.” (Matthew 6:31-33 – NKJV)

Your world is shaped by the words you speak. So, once you give voice to negative thoughts, you set in motion all of the elements needed to bring adversity to pass. Instead of speaking…

I Cannot Be Timid and Weak Anymore

“ For the Lord, the Holy One of Israel, and its Maker says this, “Ask Me about the things to come concerning My sons, and give Me orders concerning the work of My hands.” (Isaiah 45:11 – AMP)

God is waiting on you to command Him according to His Word just as Moses did when He was about to destroy the children of Israel. Plead your case before Him so that He…

Depend on the Power of His Might

“A final word: Be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power.” (Ephesians 6:10 – NLT)

This verse of Scripture tells us to be strong. Use The Might And Power Of God. Your strength is not good enough. You have to plant the Word, which is seed into your heart.…

God Is Not Bound by Time

“Nevertheless, do not let this one fact escape your notice, beloved, that with the Lord one day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years is like one day.” (2 Peter 3:8 – AMP)

Peter warns believers that in the last day’s scoffers will come who will question the Second Coming of Christ (see 2 Pet 3:3, 4). Peter explains that God’s concept of time differs greatly from…
