Control the Tongue

“If anyone thinks himself to be religious [scrupulously observant of the rituals of his faith], and does not control his tongue but deludes his own heart, this person’s religion is worthless (futile, barren)”
Our religion is worthless if we never take control of our tongue. If we just speak whatever we want to and speak rudely to people, how will we influence them. We have to be mission minded. We have to understand that our words have power so we have to bring our tongue under control. This is not possible in our own strength. We need the help of the Holy Spirit to tame our tongue and bring our tongue under control. When we speak less and act more in love, we are able to influence others and show the glory of God in every situation. It’s not religion we are after, but we are after the hearts of men and women who are lost in this dying world. We have the answer, we just need to learn how to communicate the answer to those who are lost. Seek opportunities to share the gospel of Christ, whilst walking in love.
This is the season where we walk in love and show forth Christ in all his fullness in our lives. Choose your words carefully and I know you will be a blessing wherever you go.
