Embrace your New Season

Pastor Zubeda Sing · 3 min read

“And he changeth the times and the seasons: he removeth kings, and setteth up kings: he giveth wisdom unto the wise, and knowledge to them that know understanding: He revealeth the deep and secret things: he knoweth what is in the darkness, and the light dwelleth with him.”
Daniel 2v21

Have you ever wondered what season am I in? This month of September is the beginning of spring. Winter is behind us. We can now enjoy the warmth of the beautiful sunshine. We can see the flowers blooming again and the grass is green and inviting. We can put away the warm jerseys and heated blankets and all the clothes that went with the winter months. No more dry skin and difficulty getting up in the morning. It is spring and a whole new season.

In the natural the season has changed and in the natural we have come into a new season. The natural and the super natural are parallel. If the season changes in the natural, would it be any different in our spiritual lives. We too go through different seasons in our lives. In some of our lives we perhaps had a great job and earned very well and everyone was happy but suddenly there is a change and we are retrenched. It’s really hard to adjust, but the secret is to be flexible. Understand that the season has changed. Just like we had to change the kind of clothes we were wearing in the old season, there are some habits and things in our lives we have to change to adjust to the new season. Complaining about the change will not make it any easier. This is the part where, we as believers should have an understanding of the workings of God. We should have a heart full of the word so when our emotions go out of control, our spirit man begins to rise up and speak out. This is the time, like David that we have to encourage ourselves in the Lord. God does not cause bad things to happen to us, but many times He will allow stuff to happen so our faith can be tried like pure gold. Gold gets purified in fire seven times. Our faith will be tested but know this, the word says our faith is more precious than pure gold God will never allow us to endure more than we can handle.

We need to change our wardrobe of faith for this new season. Take out your coat of love, not the heavy one you used in winter but the lighter, more flexible one. The one that allows us to feel the wind of change but be comfortable enough to enjoy the breeze. We need to take off the gloves of discontentment and put on the gloves of a soldier to fight the good fight of faith. We need to put on joy, because this joy will cause us to be strengthened, the joy of the Lord is our strength. Laugh at the devil and say to him, is this all you got. Then go forward and do what God has told you to do. Rise up, you can do this.
