A Word in Season
Pastor Zubeda Sing · 2 min read

“The Lord GOD hath given me the tongue of the learned, that I should know how to speak a word in season to him that is weary: he wakeneth morning by morning, he wakeneth mine ear to hear as the learned.”
There is a time and season for everything in this life. Studying and meditating on the word of God makes us have a learned tongue, a tongue trained by the Holy Spirit. We are able to speak a word in the right season, at the appropriate time to those in need. It takes a deliberate decision by ourselves to study the word and to commune with the Holy Spirit.
As we do this, we may meet a person who is depressed or feeling hopeless. In an instant, the Holy Spirit will quicken you and you are able to share a word with them that will lift their spirits and cause them to be encouraged. This is a word in season. This is the tongue of the learned. When we meet a person who is grieving, the Holy Spirit will quicken your spirit with a word to encourage them and just one word from you, will heal their broken heart. You develop a listening ear and a trained tongue to speak.
The practice of studying the word is developed over time. As you fellowship with the word and the spirit of God, the wisdom in your life begins to increase, you begin to hear his voice more clearly and your spirit man becomes more yielded to the things of God. It is wonderful to be led by the Spirit of God, you are more effective in ministry and in your everyday life.
