Word Culture

Pastor Zubeda Sing · 2 min read

“So mightily grew the word of God and prevailed.”
Acts 19v20

When we live in a culture, there is certain ways we do things. There are certain norms and traditions that we follow that is acceptable to the people around us and we live in harmony because we are generally living the same way. In the culture of the word, we learn how the word works and what works for us. We learn to think differently, we learn to talk differently and we learn new norms that are contrary to the old way of living. In this word culture, we put on the mind of Christ, so old things that were normally acceptable, suddenly begins to change. What we would accept as normal before, now that we have a revelation of the word of God, we find we cannot accept them anymore. We are now raised to a new standard of living.

Where we were comfortable with sickness and disease, now we understand that by the stripes of Jesus we have been healed. So, we now repel sickness, we speak healing to our body and if there are any sick amongst us, we lay hands on them and command them to be made whole. Where we were comfortable with lack, now that we understand that Jesus was made more so we could be rich. We refuse lack and insufficiency and command it to go in Jesus. The word begins to train us in a new culture. The culture of the word of God. The culture of the promises of God. We are quickened by the word and suddenly get very bold in our faith, refusing anything less than what God has promised us. Old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new.

We now live in the new culture of the Word of God.
