Carnal Vs Spiritual Mind

The writer of this scripture is the Apostle Paul who was called to minister the gospel to the Gentiles. He had a beautiful way of encouraging different kinds of people and way of them trying to embrace their new way of living. He knew that one of the challenges every one of us would face in this journey of salvation would be our way of thinking. To embrace this new and living way, we would have to move away from the way we were trained to talk in our daily life. The only way for us to experience this new creation life was to embrace God thoughts and God’s way of doing things. He clearly mentions the fact that our carnal way of thinking was enmity against God. How we approached things and how God had planned them was totally against each other. We are told we are sick because of an ailment, God sent Jesus to die on the cross and on the cross Sickness was dealt with so we are now sickness and disease free. This is truth. The fact may be that the doctor has diagnosed you with an illness but you do not have to accept this. This is where your mind and heart need to connect. Grab a hold of the word that says, by the stripes of Jesus I am healed. You start to confess this over your body daily. Every time a symptom shows up you resist it with the word of God. This is not saying you will never be sick or that you should not go to the doctor. There is nothing wrong with going to the doctor, but you are of a higher class. You are already made aware that sickness is not your portion and this is the starting point.

Practice confession in your life in every area and soon your carnal mind will become a spiritual mind and you will have the thoughts of God. The change of thinking is deliberate and intentional with the help of the holy Spirit.
