A Reasoning Mind

“And immediately when Jesus perceived in his spirit that they so reasoned within themselves, he said unto them, Why reason ye these things in your hearts?”
We are taught the ways of the world in the learning we receive in the 12 years of schooling we receive. Some of us have gone onto university so we are further trained into thinking like the world does. These kind of thoughts are not always bad, it is just that it keeps us earth bound.
We are called to the God kind of thoughts. The bible says, his ways are not our ways and his thoughts are not our thoughts, yet by the spirit of God, we have access to the God kind of thoughts. In the natural way of doing things, some things seem impossible. Yet, as we become more spiritually minded, we begin to see possibilities in every situation. There is a thought life shift that takes place. It is intentional, yet also gradual in our daily walk with the Holy Spirit.
We may start out this life of being a believer by being carnally minded, yet as we walk daily with the Holy Spirit and listen to God’s word being preached, we are changed and renewed in our mind. Jesus’s question to his disciples was, why are you reasoning? So reasoning is not of the spirit, it is a carnal way of thinking.
