Vision for Increase
Pastor Zubeda Sing · 3 min read

“When He had finished speaking, He said to Simon [Peter], “Put out into the deep water and lower your nets for a catch [of fish].”
Go out into the deep waters—vision demands risk and expansion.
Don’t be content with staying on the shallow, safe shore.
Expect a net-breaking harvest in your current pursuit.
This was such a strange instruction, to a fisherman who knew the waters so well. They had fished all night and had caught nothing. It was now day so it was even more difficult to catch fish. Yet, the master gave an instruction. He knew that they had been fishing all night but he still gave the instruction to cast their nets. Was this a test or was this a declaration of a miracle of increase. The obedience to the instruction was the answer to the increase. Peter knew that he had fished all night. The fisherman with him also knew that they had fished all night, but they waited to see what Peter would do. Peter decided to obey the instruction as he was familiar with the miracle working power of Jesus. He knew that he did not just speak. There were miracles that took place when he spoke. It was a risk to obey, but vision demands risk and expansion. Peter obeyed and launched out into the deep. His obedience brought increase and overflow not only to himself but to those fisherman with him. It was a net breaking experience, yet it was risky, but the results were overwhelming.
If you keep doing things you know how to do and when to do it, you will remain where you are. Your vision must be bigger than you. Your vision must need the intervention of the miracle worker. Your vision will be risky, but at the voice of the master, you can receive increase and overflow in your current situation. You may have all the knowledge and the know how like Peter, yet when you hear the voice of the holy Spirit telling you to do something, do it! You will experience miraculous results. Increase breaks the back of lack, but it demands a response from you to move out of your comfort zone. You may know the territory of your current life well, yet within the boundaries of this territory lies the potential for increase and overflow. Listen and obey. The vision is for an appointed time, cease the opportunity when it presents itself.
Peter saw Jesus as a miracle worker and he also knew that he spoke with power and authority, so when he looked and heard the instruction, he was expecting a harvest as he remembered the money in the mouth of the fish to pay their taxes. What do you see? What do you hear when you hear the word of God spoken? Let your vision propel you towards a net breaking experience, no matter risk, God has your back and He will never fail you.
