The Expectations of a Thriver

Pastor Zubeda Sing · 2 min read

“Lord, if it’s you,” Peter replied, “tell me to come to you on the water.”
Matthew 14v28

Peter had the kind of faith that thrilled the Father. He was not afraid, he had raw, undiluted faith. He saw Jesus and the fact that he was walking on water did not bother Peter. He saw this as a possibility that he too could walk on water. He expected to walk on water like Jesus, because if Jesus could do it, so could he. Crazy right? Yet it was true. Peter walked on water. Do not consider the duration of the walk, no the fear that entered his heart. Peter walked on the water as long as his eyes were fixed on Jesus. It was only when he considered the storm and the waves that he faltered. He expected to walk on the water and he did. He thrived in the storm.

We get too occupied with the facts of life, the things that could go wrong, the people who do not like us, the weather conditions, whatever, these are the distractions that prevent us from speaking to the storms in our life. A thriver has high expectations and looks within to the God who is able to do the impossible in their lives. Keep your expectations high so God can come through for you again and again. Do not let life dictate the outcome of your life. you say to life, Jesus came to give me this life, to the full till it overflows. Never doubt what God can do.
