Grace to Hear

Pastor Zubeda Sing · 1 min read

“The angel said, “Your prayers and neighborly acts have brought you to God’s attention. Here’s what you are to do. Send men to Joppa to get Simon, the one everyone calls Peter. He is staying with Simon the Tanner, whose house is down by the sea.”
ACTS 10v4-6

Cornelius had the privilege of hearing from God. His obedience in worshipping God and giving arms got God’s attention. God sent an angel to him to tell him the way of Salvation. Cornelius could have ignored the message and continued with his “good works” but he was wise enough to listen and obey. He was a man of influence and listening to the voice brought salvation not only to himself, but also to his household and those who served him.

Cornelius was the door opener to the gentiles to be saved. God used Peter to break down the wall of petition between the Jew and Gentile, so salvation came to the house of Cornelius. It was the beginning of the church for gentile people. The grace to listen that rested on Cornelius opened a door, not only for him but it also became a life giving opportunity for his family and his community. He could only do this, because there was a grace that was on him for that time for a specific purpose. The key was the grace to hear.

Family of God, allow yourself to receive this grace to listen as it will change your world and also impact the people around you.
