The Word as a Guide

Pastor Zubeda Sing · 2 min read

“And art confident that thou thyself art a guide of the blind, a light of them which are in darkness, An instructor of the foolish, a teacher of babes, which hast the form of knowledge and of the truth in the law.”
Romans 2v19-20

Your words either build or break down. Every word you speak carries power. This power can build or destroy. These words become a guide and direction for your life. As you speak, the Holy Spirit will use the words to guide you in your life. A good example here, is a young man who meets a girl he likes very much. He is a Christian believer and the girl he meets is not. He can go to the word of God and he will find clear direction regarding this matter. Do be unequally yoked with an unbeliever. 2Cor 6v14. The answer is so clear, she may be a nice girl, but yoking himself with her, will lead to trouble for him in his future. He has to go in another direction. The Holy Spirit will help him and lead him to a girl who is a believer like himself and surely his life will be a lot more peaceful in the future. This is the kind of direction the word gives. Clear and precise, protecting your now and protecting your future.

God’s plans for our lives are for good and not for evil. He gives us an expected end. The direction to the end is in his word, we need to study so we can live our lives with good direction to avoid the pitfalls of pain and heartache. Even the GPS gives us options, the quickest route or a normal route. We make the choice. I say choose the direction of the word Of and you will avoid disasters. Pastor Roshan used to say, the school of hard knocks. When we refuse the direction and guidance of the word, we will enter the school of hard knocks.
