Giving Hope Through the Word

Pastor Zubeda Sing · 2 min read

“Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted in me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him for the help of his countenance.”
Psalm 42v5

We should never feel hopeless. There is nothing in this world that can and should make us feel hopeless. God has given us a measure of Faith, he has given us the Holy Spirit who daily grows our faith as we feed on the word of God. The word of God gives us knowledge of who God is and who we are in Christ. This alone should strengthen us as he upholds us with the right hand of his righteousness.

In this day and age, we have access to the internet and we can listen to ministry 24/7. We can play gospel music and it will encourage us. We need never lose hope. Call on the name of the Lord and you will be saved.

The secret to ongoing hope, is to spend as much time as you possibly can, in the word of God. Get yourself a good bible, one that you enjoy reading. Highlight the passages you read and memorise them. When you need encouragement read these verses again and again. They become a part of your subconscious mind. When you feel down, this part of your mind begins to trigger the scriptures you have learnt and studied and the Holy Spirit brings it to your memory to refresh you. The word is like a gold mine, waiting for you to dig deep to find the treasures hidden there in. These nuggets do not only give you hope, but you are able to give hope to others.
