Only Believe

“As soon as Jesus heard the word that was spoken, he saith unto the ruler of the synagogue, Be not afraid, only believe.”
What beautiful words, and seemed like the most inappropriate time. This man had just been given the news that his daughter was now dead and he should leave the master alone. He could have retaliated and say to Jesus, how could you say that. I just lost my daughter, but his desire to see his daughter well, over-rode any fear or anxiety. He had seen the miracles of Jesus, he had heard about the things Jesus had done so his deep desire was to see his daughter healed. He was convinced that Jesus could do the impossible. He was willing “to believe”!
Family of God, dearly beloved of God. God calls us to believe. God calls us to trust that He can do what He said he would do. Like Jairus, we have to believe that God is well able to do what he says he will do. We have to be persuaded, we have to hope against hope and we got to know that we know, in our knower that God can!
Allow the Holy Spirit to develop your faith and grow in grace. Be at peace, enter into the rest of God. Only believe!
