The Word is an Anchor

“Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and which entereth into that within the veil; Whither the forerunner is for us entered, even Jesus, made an high priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec”
The word of God is an anchor of our souls. This anchor keeps us steadfast and unshakeable in our faith. No matter the trial or circumstance, nothing can shake us from our faith. We remain firm, like Abraham, who was fully persuaded in His God.
In the book of Acts, the apostle Paul was on a boat with other prisoners, being transported to Rome to stand before the high court. There were many storms they faced and at some point, they had to even throw out all of the good on the boat. In the middle of the storm they threw the anchor of the boat to try and keep the boat from going adrift. This was a physical tangible anchor which normally keep the boat in place, but in this instance it did not.
Jesus is the anchor of our souls. He has given us his word to keep us anchored in God. This word is quick and powerful and sharper than any two-edged sword. It keeps us steady and strong no matter what. It helps keep our mind strong and brings healing to our body. The word is our anchor in the midst of our journey in this salvation walk. When we are anchored, those around us, stay steadfast as well as they look to us and are encouraged.
