Do Not Compromise

Joseph was presented with a challenge and a temptation. Potipher’s wife found him very attractive and wanted him to sleep with her. Joseph feared God. The very thought of any form of evil meant sinning against God and that was something he could not afford. He had a choice to make. Sleep with the lady of the house and keep his job or run in haste and stand freely before God. Joseph chose the latter. The hand of the Lord was upon him and he enjoyed untold favour in his life. He pleased God. he refused to compromise.

Everyone of us in this life will face temptations. There will be opportunities to compromise what we believe in. We cannot and must not give in. There will be times when it would seem easy to compromise your integrity to benefit yourself. This is too dangerous. Once compromise starts it never ends. You may say to yourself, only this once, but every time you are presented with a similar circumstance, the choice to compromise becomes easier and easier. You need the word and the spirit of God in your so you can overcome temptation and resist the devil. Ask for the Holy Spirit to help you, to keep you strong against temptation. It is too high a cost to compromise.
