Allowing My Purpose to Shape My Life

“From there Isaac moved to Beersheba, where the LORD appeared to him on the night of his arrival. “I am the God of your father, Abraham,” he said. “Do not be afraid, for I am with you and will bless you. I will multiply your descendants, and they will become a great nation. I will do this because of my promise to Abraham, my servant.” Then Isaac built an altar there and worshiped the LORD. He set up his camp at that place, and his servants dug another well.”
Isaac was minding his own business and in so doing, he needed a well from which him and his family would draw water. His father Abraham was well known and an influencer, as the son of Abraham, Isaac too was a man of influence. Every time he would build a well, the enemy would come and take over the well. He did this over three times and each time the enemy came and said the well was there. Isaac persisted in a humble manner, not allowing the enemy to frustrate him. It took a man of God, called by God to open up ways that met not only his need but the need of others too. The well was a source of life to those in need of water. Isaac yielded without allowing himself to retaliate. The character of God shone through and God allowed him the privilege of his own well which supplied his own family and God prospered him in that place.
It is so easy for us to be frustrated and annoyed by the enemy, who comes at the most vulnerable time to distract us from our purpose. We need to keep doing what we need to do and fulfill our calling and purpose. Stay focused, do not allow the enemy to steal your joy. Allow the holy Spirit to shape you for your good success in your purpose.
