Called to Be a Father of Many Nations

Pastor Wesley & Yajhna Sing · 2 min read

“The LORD had said to Abram, “Leave your native country, your relatives, and your father’s family, and go to the land that I will show you. I will make you into a great nation. I will bless you and make you famous, and you will be a blessing to others. I will bless those who bless you and curse those who treat you with contempt. All the families on earth will be blessed through you.””
Genesis 12v1-3

Abraham was called of God to leave his country and relatives and go to a country God was calling him to. The promise for his obedience was that he would become a great nation. What a beautiful promise. Yet, think about it, it meant leaving all that he was familiar with, leaving his comfort zone. It meant sacrifice, it meant a letting go of things that he held dear.

This call meant walking into the unknown, walking in territory he was completely unfamiliar with. This called for Abraham to completely trust in God.

Everyone wants a prophecy, a knowing of the future or be given a word that will help them know which direction they should go. However, a word from God is not necessarily for immediate action or it will not take place immediately, it takes time. There is a timing in God.

Are you willing to let somethings go and give up all that is familiar to you to do what God has called you to do. There is a promise of benefits untold if you are willing and obedient but there is a cost to the call. Are you willing to pay the price? I am not sure of the price tag of the call but I can tell you this, it is so worth it. Walking with Jesus is so awesome and every day is more precious than the day before.
