Understanding Your Purpose – Part 7

Dr RJ Sing · 1 min read

“Don’t copy the behaviour and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will know what God wants you to do and you will know how good and pleasing and perfect his will really is.”
Romans 12:2 – NLT

Your life on earth is also a trust. Opportunities and resources are all gifts from God that has been entrusted to our care and management. We are stewards of whatever God gives us. The concept of stewardship begins with the recognition that God is the owner of everything. The more God gives you, the more responsible He expects you to be.

At the end of your life you will be evaluated and rewarded according to how well you handled what God entrusted to you. This included everything you do. Even your money is a test and trust from God. God uses finances to teach us to trust in Him and He watches how we use our money. 1 Corinthians 4:7 (NLT) “What do you have that God hasn't given you. And if all you have is from God, why boast as though you have accomplished something on your own.”

Life on earth is a temporary assignment. Psalm 39:4 (NLT) “Lord, remind me how brief my time on earth will be. Remind me that my days are numbered, and that my life is fleeing away.” To keep us from becoming too attached to earth, God allows us to feel a significant amount of discontent and dissatisfaction in this life.
