Understanding Your Purpose – Part 8
Dr RJ Sing · 1 min read
“Don’t copy the behaviour and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will know what God wants you to do and you will know how good and pleasing and perfect his will really is.”
Your first question in Heaven: Why did I place so much importance on things that were so temporary? You need to remind yourself that, life on earth is just a temporary assignment and that it is extremely brief compared to eternity. Earth is only your temporary residence and you won’t be here long so don’t get too attached.
Ask God to change your thinking and help you see earth as He sees it. Your identity is in eternity and your homeland is in Heaven. When you eventually grasp this truth, you will stop worrying about having it all on earth. When you flirt with temptations of the world, God calls it spiritual adultery. So never focus on temporary crowns.
There is a reason for everything. Romans 11:36 “Everything comes from God alone. Everything lives by His Power, and everything is for His Glory.” Proverbs 16:4 (NLT) “The Lord has made everything for his own purposes.” It’s all for Him. The ultimate goal of the universe is to show the glory of God. It is the reason everything exists including you.
