A Heart Full of Good Treasure
Pastor Zubeda Sing · 2 min read

“The [intrinsically] good man produces what is good and honorable and moral out of the good treasure [stored] in his heart; and the [intrinsically] evil man produces what is wicked and depraved out of the evil [in his heart]; for his mouth speaks from the overflow of his heart.”
Jesus said, there is no one good except the father, yet this scripture says, a good man, out of the good treasure of his heart will bring forth good things, actually the amplified bible says, an intrinsically good man. A good that comes from within in. If we ponder this, it would seem a person could be good without God, but this is not possible. Unless a man is born again, the actions are out of self effort and the good that the man does, is done to please God, yet the relationship between them and God is a transactional relationship. What does this mean? It means the person feels the need to be good so God can be good to Him/Her.
In this life of salvation, nothing we do can be good enough for God. God accepts us, just as we are and that is only the starting point. When we reconnect to our original plan God has for us, he sends in the Holy Spirit to begin the process of change and transformation that instills in us this good God nature that is held together by God and not dependent on us to be good. It does not mean you can live anyhow. No! The Holy Spirit will convict you and constantly realign you to the ways of God. The good works now is by the power of the Holy Spirit working in you.
The Thriver becomes that good man, led by the power of the Holy Spirit, to bring forth good things, for himself and others, building the kingdom of God.
