Wait Out the Promise

“So Sarai said to Abram, “See here, the LORD has prevented me from bearing children. I am asking you to go in to [the bed of] my maid [so that she may bear you a child]; perhaps I will obtain children by her”
God had promised Abraham a son of promise, he promised him that he would make him a father of many nations. Much time had passed and both Sarah and Abraham were getting along in years. Sarah got tired of waiting and in her mind “it was too late” so she took matters into her own hand. She told Abraham (in her carnal mind) to go and sleep with her maid so she would become a mother through her. She was so wrong. God’s plan was way higher than this but Sarah was not persuaded in her mind that God would fulfilll his promise. She reaped the consequences, but not her alone, Ishmael became a great nation and till today and are troubling the world which affected not only Sarah and Abraham but the nation of Israel in the form of the war with Israel and Palistine. So for the sake of one child, one carnal decision, the generations suffered. Our small mindsets and carnal decisions can cause endless trouble for ourselves and others. When God promises, he delivers.
Waiting is not very comfortable. We are a people who want everything now and get very frustrated when things take too long. Impatience leads to poor decisions that do not only affect our lives but also the lives of the people attached to us. Rest in your thoughts knowing that God will fulfill his promise. Salvation will come to you and your household. One poor decision could lead you to a lifetime of trouble and heartache. Wait! Rest your mind in Christ.
A thriver allows his/her faith to be patient and grow in waiting, even though its uncomfortable and frustrating sometimes, but waiting brings the promise to fruition in the perfect timing of God.
