Strength in Weakness
Pastor Zubeda Sing · 3 min read

“So I am well pleased with weaknesses, with insults, with distresses, with persecutions, and with difficulties, for the sake of Christ; for when I am weak [in human strength], then I am strong [truly able, truly powerful, truly drawing from God’s strength]”
Paul an apostle of Jesus Christ writing to the Corinthian church, could only give an example of the life of salvation, through what he has experienced himself. He knew Jesus so well in every area of his life. He had no props or assistance in his life where he could lean on to give him strength or courage. He only knew Jesus. He knew the power of the Holy Spirit and God added men and women to his life as he walked, so they could assist him. He knew all kinds of difficulties in his life. He was walking a completely untraveled path. No one had gone before him. The other apostles were called to the Jews because salvation was meant for the Jews first. The only person who could train him in his mission, was the Holy Spirit, so he had to trust completely in God’s ability to see him through.
We on the other hand, have lots of people around us, we have the word of God, we have a pastor or teacher, teaching us the word of God. We are groomed by the various avenues of ministry to teach us and train us in this way of life in Christ. Let us get this fact straight. In this life, we will face trials, temptations and difficulties. Challenges is par for the course. We will face challenges on a regular basis. It is not there to kill us, but to develop us in our faith. God does not give us the challenge but He allows the challenges in our life to train us for the mission to which we are called. We are also trained and skilled for the people we will face in our world. We are taught the language of the people we will face. When I say language, I do not mean a different language aside from English, but the manner of speech that will appeal to the audience to which we are called. If you are very outgoing and very social, God will place you among those kind of people so you can relate to them and minister the gospel to them.
Never be afraid of the challenges or difficulty, even in your weakness you are not alone. God is with you. He becomes your strength and shield and exceeding great reward. He is your rear guard even when you are being betrayed by the people closest to you. Your weakness is not a sign that you have gone astray, it is just reminding you to get the barriers up in your life to keep the devil out. Give more time to fellowship with God and his word. Get your prayer temperature on high so that you are speaking to God and not consulting man. The wisdom of God will guide you through every season. God is your strength and song. Put your praise on.
A thriver can be weak at times but the thriver knows God’s strength is best in their weakness. Go Thriver, you can do this.
