God’s Vision Versus Our Understanding
Pastor Zubeda Sing · 2 min read

“Now the word of the LORD came to Jonah the son of Amittai, saying, “Go to Nineveh, that great city, and proclaim [judgment] against it, for their wickedness has come up before Me.” But Jonah ran away to Tarshish to escape from the presence of the LORD [and his duty as His prophet]”
God gave Jonah an instruction. God had a vision for Nineveh and he wanted to use Jonah as an instrument to bring Nineveh to the people to give them a chance for his mercy. Jonah knew the wickedness of the city of Nineveh and he felt that they should not be saved.
Oh the mercy, and the goodness of our God. He always shows his love and is ready to show forgiveness no matter what state we are in. According to Jonah, Nineveh was way past redemption. Not according to our Father, those were his people, they had a mission and he wanted them back in his family, no matter what they were precious in his sight. He had the capacity to forgive them for their failures and bad behaviour. It was not their behaviour that mattered but their love for him.
Family of God, write your vision down and plan for present and future, without letting the past determine your present and future. Do not allow the enemy access into your life. You have to stay determined in your walk, knowing you are always on God’s mind. God has a perfect plan for your life. His thoughts towards you are for good and not for evil. You have an expected end. He daily loads you with benefits. If he loved Nineveh enough to save them. You too are the beloved of God. You held in the palm of his hand. Listen to his voice and follow his instructions. Your behaviour does not cause God to ignore you, no, like Jonah, he will send someone to rescue you.
