The Thriver Lives Offense Free

Pastor Zubeda Sing · 2 min read

“I know and am convinced by the Lord Jesus that there is nothing unclean of itself; but to him who considers anything to be unclean, to him it is unclean. Yet if your brother is grieved because of your food, you are no longer walking in love. Do not destroy with your food the one for whom Christ died”
ROM 14V14-15

In this life you will find many people have walked away from the things of God because of being offended. The offense did not come deliberately but it is offense none the same. A stronger Christian does not realise how he/she influences a younger believer, in conduct or in eating or in drinking.

Let us establish this fact in our lives, as a Christian or an unbeliever, relationships will always be important, very important. We will be responsible for the lives of people whether we want to be or not. Hence we are constantly encourage by the Apostle Paul to walk circumspectly. Let us pursue peace at all costs. How we conduct ourselves in Christ is absolutely important to the kingdom of God. Jesus died for the sinner and shed His blood so every one of us can be sin free. It is most important to us Christians. Let us not become a judge to the weaker Christian in matters of eating and drinking. If someone is not comfortable eating or drinking something, let us who are stronger not judge that person. This chapter in Romans puts it so nicely, it says, do not let your appetite be the reason for a weak Christian to fall or be offended. Let your mature love make room for the weak Christian.

We come down to the basic, which is love. Love teaches us not to judge and love teaches us that love overlooks an offense. You would rather be wronged than let your weaker brother or sister, be wronged. The Thriver is so satisfied with the goodness of God that he is not offended by the small failings of others. He constantly makes room for the faults of others and in this way, He becomes strong and those around him develop as well. There is righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. Let us fellowship with the Holy Spirit so he can develop our spiritual social skills.
