The Giving Spirit of the Thriver

“And Joses, who was also named Barnabas by the apostles (which is translated Son of Encouragement), a Levite of the country of Cyprus, having land, sold it, and brought the money and laid it at the apostles’ feet.”
Barnabas is a marvel to me. There are so many attributes in his life that speaks of being a generous and successful man. He was never self absorbed or wanting to promote himself. His whole idea was to give into the kingdom of God. When he heard of the apostle Paul, he went to find him to bring him into the fellowship and introduce him to the brethren He recognized the gifting in Paul so he preferred to promote the gifting in him so the body of Christ could be blessed. Barnabas did not lack in the giftings in calling of God but because he was such a giver and so generous, he preferred to give all that he had into the kingdom of God and then open doors for others. The bible actually refers to him as the “son of encouragement”. The spirit of a thriver in Barnabas was evident. It is actually contagious. When we read what kind of a man Barnabas, we cannot help but want to be more like him.
The kingdom of God was enriched because of this thriving spirit in Barnabas. He travelled with Paul and everywhere he went he was a blessing.
Break free from thinking like a victim or a spirit of lack. We are thrivers and the spirit of giving and generosity is waiting to be released from our lives. The kingdom of God will be blessed because of the giving spirit in our lives. Give, it opens the door to thrive financially in your own life.
