Wealth of Joy

Pastor Zubeda Sing · 2 min read

“And all the people came up after him, and the people piped with pipes, and rejoiced with great joy, so that the earth rent with the sound of them”
1 Kings 1v40

The joy of the Lord is our strength. Joy is a fruit of the spirit. Joy brings healing to the body. It helps your mind from emotional stress and even physical trauma. The scripture states that we should be thankful, in a state of joy, you cannot help but be thankful. The Holy Spirit teaches us contentment which is a product of joy. Having joy does not mean you just laugh for nothing or do unexplainable things. This joy brings a contentment even in the midst of the greatest turmoil. You may receive devasting news all of a sudden, yet you are able to stay calm. Joy makes you look at the problem through the eyes of the spirit. Joy builds your confidence and you are bold enough to know that God will come through for you. The joy of the Lord breathes a quiet confidence in you that keeps you sturdy and strong no matter what.

Joy is infectious. People around you see your strength and confidence and want what you have. Joy then becomes a bridge builder for you to witness to those who are down or sick or in need of help. Joy welcomes the presence of God into your life and creates and atmosphere for miracles. Joy attracts miracles, not only for yourself but for others as well. Guard your joy as you would guard your heart, so the wind of adversity is kept at bay and you are able to operate in victory and good success. The joy of the Lord also entertains the wisdom of God, which brings about solutions in complex situation.
