Love for the Word

“Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand. John to the seven church”
The word of God is powerful. We the new creation believers need to learn the language of the word of God. The Holy Spirit has shed his love abroad our hearts and this love also includes the love of the word of God. Love for the word of God makes a demand on us to study and read the word daily. If we love chocolate, we want to eat chocolate all the time. Likewise, as we develop a love for the word of God, this beautiful love of the word brings wisdom into our lives. It changes our language, the way we speak and the way we present ourselves. The sound of the word out of our mouth sounds like a symphony, music to the ears of the listener. It is a higher language.
In the case of Peter and John when they spoke to the Sanhedrin, the leaders of the synagogue, they marveled listening to the words spoken by Peter and John. Their response was, how could these, illiterate, fisherman, speak the way they were speaking? The answer they gave themselves was, they had been with Jesus. Jesus was the word and is the word, so spending time with Him, made them speak better than these highly educated men and confounded them.
Can we afford not to be in love with the word of God. The word forms part of our training to be victorious and successful in this life.
